THAYERS Gentlemen's Collection Aftershave Lotion with Witch Hazel & Aloe Vera, 4 Ounce

The aftershave lotion (it's a traditional lotion and is what most people in the US know as simply "aftershave"; it's not a balm or cream) is pretty great. I'm normally a Proraso green aftershave user (also some very good stuff), and this lotion is just as good. It's got that bracing bite I look for, and then my skin instantly feels refreshed and moisturized (even without menthol, which makes this a great winter aftershave). My skin feels moisturized throughout the day without any tightness, even after days where I have a rougher shave with a blade toward the end of its life in my safety razor.What I really enjoy, however, is the smell. It's not a modern aquatic or "sport" scent like a lot of men today may used to be smelling; it doesn't smell like anything with the words "mountain," "extreme," or "blast" in the title. Rather, this smells like a dry sandalwood sans the earthiness that might otherwise make it smell a little dirty. Top that sandalwood off with a hint of marine notes (my nose isn't refined enough, but think a hint of linalool and calone). It's powdery only in the sense that it smells like dry sandalwood, but it lacks any aldehydic or floral qualities to my nose. It's a more simple scent, yes, but it's such a refreshing divergence from the muddled aromas you smell in the men's aisle of big-box retailers. Plus, for someone with more sensitive skin like me, it doesn't cause any sort of adverse reaction, and whatever subtle aroma does last more than a few minutes on my skin doesn't smell any more strongly than the the laundry detergent scent, shampoo, and other scents likely radiating from me at any given point in time.I'll by purchasing another bottle. My skin loves it, and I love the smell. At this price, you can't go wrong.PS: This bottle doesn't contain a flow restrictor. A little tip (pun intended) is to start tipping the bottle not with the opening side down but starting with the opening side up. That is, you start pouring it with the opening facing upward, and you'll end up with the bottle being pretty much fully vertically upside down with just a few drips coming out of the opening. It's counterintuitive, but it seems to keep it from gushing out of the cap.

I had bought this randomly for my guy to help with sensitivity after he shaves. Not only does he love it, but I do too... on him! It smells so amazingly on him and I find myself self nuzzling in close and kissing him even more. I'm not talking body spray for the boys, this is a pleasant sophisticated scent. I will buy it as long as they are making it.

I love this product. Super cooling and moisturizing. Somewhat pricey but worth it.

This is a great aftershave if you are looking for a low fragrance aftershave. I’m not big on living in a cloud of “Old Spice” through the day, but I like liquid based aftershaves. If you are in the same boat, this product fits the bill. While there is some fragrances, it’s a barley noticeable and is a great outdoorsy smell. Also, the cooling aspect works great and soothes razor burn. And I shave my head so eliminating razor burn is critical for my aftershave.

Javier O Osuna Ruiz shipped this after shave to me. When I opened it to break the seal I found it was missing one comoletely and a lot of the liquid was gone. There was hardly anything left. it also has a very chemical-like stench to it and makes me doubt this is even a legitimate product from Thayers. Do not buy this product and instead pick it up from a local store.

Nice product. Hubs likes the lotion and doesn't clog pores. Great for sensitive skin and smells great.

witchhazel - its just good stuff. this has a manly scent and works well... wish the bottle was bigger for the money

I bought this at a local store the first time and it was a cream, but when I got this bottle it was a liquid. It works well still but I prefer the cream. I’m not sure if they changed their formula or what (I matched the bottles when ordering).
