FultonCORPORATION 8909 Plastic Sawhorse Bracket

These were my third try at sawhorse brackets. The first pair were the hinged metal sleeves bought at Lowe's but pretty common. I cut everything to size and the 2x4 was the same dimensions as the "outside" dimensions of the sleeve. The designer failed to account for the thickness of the metal. Not wanting to try to cut a 1/32" deep tenon on the end of a 2x4, these went back. I went for the Blitz Usa Pros ( a bit expensive but they looked solid). The listing said they were in stock; when I got to the cart I learned otherwise.I had passed on the Fulton #8909s both times because, it just seemed too simple to be strong and stable. I was wrong. The assembly was easy...a snug fit, best set with a rubber hammer. Since I already had the wood cut I put the first one together and decided I would prefer to turn a machine nut with a wrench and ditched the wingnut. I also decided to go with the very simple instructions that suggested that a 20º angle on the top of the legs would perform better. I cut, bolted it all together and cranked it down with a wrench.I really can't believe the results. The brackets look so insubstantial in the picture and out of the box. The results are amazing for such a simple design. I made my saw horses a bit taller and longer than normal to keep my canoe off the ground. Even with the extra leverage, there is no side-to-side wobble or flexing.Simple, inexpensive, good quality materials and construction, and very effective; I wish everything I buy would prove to be so much more than I expect...a pleasant surprise.

For home use these are great. Yes when you move them you need to unload or lift the leg in the direction of movement otherwise you overstress the joints and they may crack besides fall over. For home use they are great stable platforms. I made mine with 32" legs and 36" 2x6 tops. I don't have to bend over like my old ones and love the wide tops. Next to each other its a mini work bench. I use them more often like changing the hub on a grass trimmer - wide enough to position it, accessible to secure with a couple clamps, stable and good working height. Cut PVC on them, cut shelving, IF I ever stop using them or just need the space they are easy to loosen, break down and store out of the way or take them to a job site. I would say that was OK monthly , if more than weekly you need something made for frequent folding probably hinged. Note I used left over framing lumber IF you use real soft like fir or white wood it will not be durable and probably not real stable either because of soft wood, not the brackets. Snug up, don't over tighten and they work great.

The kit is remarkably easy to use for quickly building a set of sawhorses. Just remember, that these will be for light to normal duty work. That's what I needed in this case. I would not trust this set up for heavy duty loads...more strength/bracing would be required.

My husband built a sawhorse to match the one he made 20 years ago. Had the wood cut at a local hardware store and put it together in about 30 minutes. Great product!

I like that if I saw into the hard plastic these are made out of I’m not going to trash my blade. I expect them to outlast the wood I used for the legs and they can be re-used.

The two brackets we got were to replace an older version where the plastic had been cracked. I like this new version because you can use either a 2x4 or a 2x6 as the cross piece.

I have an older model of this product that is extremely difficult to place and secure the legs. The new version seems to be much improved. The wider wedge is much easier to use. Very quick assembly of the sawhorse. I have ordered this second set of brackets because I was very pleased with the first set. They have proved to be strong, long lasting and provide a stable support.

These brackets allow you to assemble the perfect portable sawhorse. These brackets are so great and so durable that the original wood that I used for my sawhorses has decomposed. Back to the lumber yard for new wood and I have another perfect set of sawhorses. These brackets allow me to disassemble the sawhorses and make them protable in the trunk of my car. They are perfect. There are no such brackets available in hardware shores.
