5 Studio Album Set
J**K
A Really Nice Set with A Really Nice Audio Quality.
This 5 album studio set is really a great buy for everyone who is a loyal fan of The Clash. These 5 albums (8 discs total), have a really great sound quality and the looks of this set is phenominal, All discs come in mini lp sleeves and they are black cds to represent the vinyl look. Yes, they have a really great sound quality. You know the 5 albums : The Clash, Give 'Em Enough Rope, London Calling (2 Discs). Sandinista (3 Discs) and Combat Rock. This is a nice set with a nice price. I managed to find a lower-priced copy from a British seller on Amazon. If I were you, I would not hesitate to snap it up as you never know when or how long it will be around. It's a really nice set with a really nice audio quality and the CLASH sound as clear adn clean as you can and that they are in the same room with you.

5 Albums in an Affordable and Surprisingly Great Looking Set
I've been a Clash fan since my teens, but unfortunately I had basically destroyed my old discs. Luckily, I saw this set pop up. Not totally willing to part with the cash for the boom box set, this seemed like a great alternative and it turns out it is!The remastering is great. I don't think I've heard these albums sound this great on CD. The presentation is top notch. Each album us designed to replicate the original album sleeve, down to inner sleeves, lyric sheets, and most impressively, the CDs are made to look like little records.Really, this set is a prime example, to me, of a budget priced box set done right.

Indispensable music sounding great (but where is the 1979 US debut?)
It's wonderful to have all this music in one collection, and sounding so great. I find that my thoughts about these albums hasn't changed much in 30 years. The UK debut was cathartic. London Calling is still the greatest record ever made. Sandinista is great music surrounded by pretensions. Combat Rock shows that the end was near.If I had one quibble, it would be that the 1979 US 'debut' should have been included. The additions to the US version over the original UK were significant and worth hearing. Wouldn't have minded having some of the EP stuff, too (Radio Clash? Armagiddeon Time?).But all in all, a terrific collection, well worth your money.

The Only Box Set that Matters?
So clean and crisp: the remastering is very well done. There is extra clarity to the songs that really gives them new life. Regarding the UK eponymous first album, the absence of Complete Control, In Hammersmith Palais and Clash City Rockers was almost a deal- killer, but the enticement of hearing theses great albums properly redone won out. Those three will be MP3 downloads. The replication of the vinyl record CD's, sleeves and album covers is so nice.

Clash 5 Stars *****
A must from the "The Only Band That Matters" if Sound System is too rich for your blood. This is another way to go for first 5 studio albums. Mick Jones did a great job on the re-mastered on the 2013 sets. Very good packaging too.

Should You Replace Your Existing Collection? ABSOLUTELY
I'm not going to write much here. You know, If Music Could Talk... well it speaks for itself. I can tell you that I have purchased many remasters over the years and some sound much better - The Stones Abcko reissues with the SACD layer come to mind. Some have no real appreciable difference. This however is completely different. You will hear things in all 5 releases, little (but important) nuances that really bring depth to The Clash body of work. In particular I'll call out how London Calling release sounds far superior than the 2000 remaster, Guns of Brixton and Lost in the Supermarket are a revelation. Mike Jones did not lie when he said he was trying to produce the best remastered set of releases EVER and he's done it. Sandinista also benefit hugely from enhanced sound. Look, you love The Clash, 5 releases with 8 CDs in nice replica sleeves at $40.00 is a steal so just go for it! I guarantee you will be glad you went ahead and replaced your older Clash catalog. Simply fantastic. Thank you Mick Jones!!!! Wonderful!

Best special edition cd box set I have ever owned
Just the fact that the cd's look like the original LPs was enough to put a smile on my face but it felt like every aspect of the design of this box was done to make a true fan happy. I'm no sound expert but the remastered songs do sound clearer without losing any of the emotion which can't have been an easy task. Thanks to the Clash
