Perhaps it was the 1960s--the shagadelic decade when London hipster Austin Powers scored with gorgeous chicks as a fashion photographer by day, crime-fighting international man of mystery by night. Yeah, baby, yeah! But when Powers's arch nemesis, Dr. Evil, puts himself into a deep-freeze and travels via time machine to the late 1990s, Powers must follow him and foil Evil's nefarious scheme of global domination. Mike Myers plays dual roles as Powers and Dr. Evil, with Elizabeth Hurley as his present-day sidekick and karate-kicking paramour. A hilarious spoof of '60s spy movies, this colorful comedy actually gets funnier with successive viewings, making it a perfect home video for gloomy days and randy nights. Oh, behave! --Jeff Shannon

Good for a Laugh
If you are looking for a good laugh, you can't beat Austin Powers. It's cheesy, funny, has multiple characters played by Mike Myers and it's a bit cheeky. It's a bit dated now, but it will make you laugh.

A classic!
I miss the time before extreme political correctness when we could take jokes for what they are; jokes. We used to be able to laugh at ourselves openly and get along. This movie is one of the reminders of how comedy still should be. Love some Austin Powers! Great music too!

Good
I know this is a very popular movie. It's just a little to weird of a comedy for my liking.

Real comedy
Love this move since when it first came out. However, the Prime Video version cut some of the best scenes (cut to family of dead evil soldier).

Funny film
Mike Myers plays the groovy sixties British spy frozen in time to the nineties, facing the evil Doctor, er, Evil, also played by himself. Liz Hurley is his eye candy sidekick and Michael York is the boss. Cue lots of in jokes about spy movies and more use of the word 'shag' than anyone thought possible. Over the top comedy in a very Mike Myers kind of way. If you like his stuff, you'll love this.Books you might like to read Cold Steel on the Rocks We Are Cold SteelCold Steel on the RocksWe Are Cold Steel

Avoid the “Three Wolves Ltd” release of Austin Powers
The limited edition Blu Ray of Austin Powers by “Three Wolves Ltd” is best avoided. It’s a cheap 24 to 25 FPS conversion in which the picture judders and stutters through the entire film. I can’t believe Three Wolves q/c didn’t pick up on this fault, more likely they couldn’t be bothered to do a better job.Save your money. Hunt down the other UK Blu Ray by Optimum Releasing. That one’s much better.
