KEEN Utility Men's Pittsburgh 6" Leather Waterproof Steel Toe Work Boots

I'll start by saying that I am very rough on shoes. Department store shoes normally last me 3 or so months before there are holes in the side of them, and or rubber bumpers peeling off. I have now had these just shy of a year, and they are in great shape (minus the abuse I inflicted on them) I work as a diesel tech, and I'm on my feet for 12+ hours a day on concrete. These shoes are very comfortable! Some days I wear them for 16 hours and my feet still dont hurt! I really like the lace retention device they use (I did break on off... but that was from a giant log that nearly smashed my foot.) They provide a very positive lock to keep your shoes tied all day. I did upgrade my laces to some kevlar ones because of the welding and torch splatter that eventually burnt holes through the laces. The rubber on the toes are holding up great compared to the dozen other shoes I've had, nothing is peeling away from being on my knees working on concrete. Pros and cons PROS Fits as expected, very durable, winter time warmth is pretty good (working outside in 25 F to 30 F degrees my feet stayed warm), Summer time breathability is great (your feet still sweat, but they aren't over heated), lace retention device's are great, Super comfortable, Oil resistant, tread lasts a long time, steel toe is in a good spot for kneeling down. CONS If they came with kevlar laces that would be the cats meow, I can't complain about anything else. In short I will be a loyal customer now that I've seen the immense quality of these boots! To often you dont get what you pay for, but I can tell you that these boots are defiantly worth 200$! I will not hesitate to buy these boots once mine wear out!

Very comfortable

Im a huge fan of keen boots as a dish network installer I put my boots through all kinds of Conditions rain,snow,mud and up and down ladders crawling under houses. I can't stress how much keen boots impressed me from day one I've owned 3 pair now 2 pairs of keen millwalkee boots and now they Pittsburgh boot, they continue to impress me with their following. Comfort most comfortable boot I've ever worn from day 1 even so called break in period feels good. Keeping dry what can I say they keep my feet dry from their elements but allow my foot to breath thus making them boot even more comfortable, nothing worse than working with wet feet. Tread my god there like mudder tires on your feet very aggressive and in my line of work it's needed but rest assured you won't slip easily. Longevity well this is my thoughts I typically replace my boots every year. That being said im not replacing them because there worn out, I replaced them because of my jobs boot allowance. I still have my brown millwalkee boots from 2.5 years ago I just use them to cut grass. That being said you should definitely get 2-4 years out of your keen boots without any problems. Boot laces what can I say I get about 5-7 months on their factory laces not bad at all. But to solve this issue my I recommend a pair of ironlaces boot laces im just took mine out of my old work boots after a year not even frayed highly recommend these great lace for a great boot. But then factory laces are better than most so no issues there. Overall I can say you enjoy you keen boots no matter what model you choose there are a great boot and will not disappoint please enjoy yours as much as I have mine

UPDATE- After one year of use, I have to say these boots have served me well. They look pretty worn out and the soles are starting to disintegrate, but they still serve their purpose. See the additional pictures I just added. I did absolutely nothing to care for these boots over the past 12 months. I wore them most days working on residential construction sites doing everything from framing to digging ditches. They got muddy, they got wet, they got concrete all over them, all I ever did was rinse them off. Summer in Texas is hot, and these boots are not the coolest. I wear synthetic breathable socks and my feet were hot. I had to pull the insoles each night and let the boots air out. They were not always dry the next morning. If the soles weren't disintegrating, they would probably last another year. I will likely replace these in the next two months. May or may not buy another pair. I got these boots to wear while working. I primarily work on residential construction sites. My work consists of general carpentry, framing, and lot clearing. I spent the first two days in these boots clearing brush and trees. Lots of time on my feet and knees. The boots felt very good without any break-in. By the end of the second day, I was noticing some rubbing on my lower shin and ankle but it was minimal. My only complaint is that the protective rubber toe cover got a decent nick in the short amount of time I used them. Attached are photos after two days of hard use without any wipedown. When I ordered these boots, I also ordered the Timberland Pro Titan 6" Waterproof Boots. The Keens had a wider toe space and looked like a better made boot. Also, the "hiker" style suited me better. The Keens are heavier than the Timberlands, but I decided based on the other factors that wasn't an issue for me.

This is my third pair of these. I drive tractor trailer and these are so comfortable I wear them when I'm not working. They last 2 plus years and they don't need a break in period.

The Keen Pittsburgh ST work boot provides excellent cushioning, a supportive sole, reliable footing on wet concrete floors, and are just an all-around great boot. I work on concrete floors all day, and need good foot/ankle support to do a lot of awkward lifting and carrying 20-50 pound boxes and sacks in tight spaces. In a year of working on concrete floors, my feet changed from a women's 9 medium to women's 9.5 Wide. I also have metal pins/ implants in my right foot, So Keen's generous toe-box , coupled with a narrow heel, and lateral motion support are a huge plus. Men's 7.5 D provided a great fit with medium-weight heavy hiking socks, although Amazon recommended an 8D. To maximize cushioning in the forefoot where I've got the metal pieces-parts in my foot, I replaced the Keen insoles with a pair of HLYOON gel insoles purchased thru Amazon. Now I've got super support and even more cushioning. No more limping at the end of the day. I tried many other brands before finding these Keens. Now two weeks of use prove they are great boots for active work. There aren't many women's work boots out there. For me, these boots are perfect in fit, support, and protection. now they are my go-to hiking boot as well as work boot. This boot does not have much flex in the sole, but a relatively rigid sole is just what I need for work-- and also for hiking. It took about 3 days to get the boots pretty much broken in. Have used them for hiking as well as work and they do well in either venue. I don't usually provide five-star reviews, or feedback that is this gushy. If this review sounds over-the-top laudatory, it's only because these boots have saved my feet and my job and make me feel like dancing in the process.

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to for this boot. This boot has been fantastic. I was looking for a boot that could have multiple uses when I purchased. It has been exactly that. I use them for hiking/camping, working, and hunting. They are comfortable, aside from being somewhat warm in the summer (I live in Texas), but I can easily mitigate that with thin athletic socks. They did take a bit to break in, but after that...smooth sailing. One of the coolest things I have found about them is that if I leave the laces out of the top two hooks and tie them in a slip knot, I can slip the boots on and off without having to tie them. This is mostly just for the evening time when I don't expect to be "using" them, but I need to make a quick trip out to the trash can when it's too muddy/wet or something. I have to say, though, of all that, the absolute best thing has to be the waterproofing. I have really only had it tested twice, but both times it held up very, very well. The first time was when about ten gallons of water fell directly on my feet and the socks never got wet. The second time was in a large open field that had just been rained on thoroughly. It looked like a rice patty; very wet and extremely muddy. Most folks were wearing rubber boots and kept saying, "I think you brought the wrong boots." I walked about 400 yards through it, around ankle deep or more in most places. After about 300 yards I could start to tell they were becoming saturated. I got to the other side and although my feet were getting a little chilly from the boots being saturated, my socks were dry. This is a great all around work boot that can be used in very wet areas for limited amounts of time. Whether hunting in rainy weather, or just working in the yard it should do ya right!

I discovered Keen footwear approximately one year ago when I decided to purchase a pair of Flint Steel Toe shoes based solely on user reviews, something I have never done. I was totally blown away by the accuracy of reviews that I read and amazed at how comfortable they are right out of the box. I have since bought several pair. Recently I was hired for a Railroad job as a freight conductor, a job that requires many hours of walking outside on various types of terrain. Having had such great success with Keen footwear I decided to invest in a pair Pittsburgh Steel Toe Work Boots. I purchased them through Amazon and like in times past, was satisfied with their fit and comfort right out of the box. I purchased these on August 10, 2016, a relatively short time ago. My first day on the railroad job was August 29, 2016 so I wanted to have them well ahead time to start on the first day. First week on the job was spent in the central office doing paperwork. I began working in the field on September 6, 2016. I was eager to start, especially since I had great footwear and knew that sore feet would not be a problem. Just yesterday I noticed that the soles are already beginning to deteriorate, crack, and split (see pictures). In just two weeks times the soles look like they will not last a long amount of time. There was nothing in the description on Amazon or the Keen footwear website indicating that these shoes would not and/or should not be used for railroading, walking on ballast (rocks), and other terrain. I feel that $165 for a pair of work boots is quite pricey especially for a pair of boots whose soles are already breaking down in such a short amount of time. I had no problem paying this amount as I was confident that these Keen Pittsburgh boots would last at least a few months before beginning to break down. I have read that Keen has excellent customer service so I am going to contact them. I am sorely disappointed in these boots. There is no other issue with these boots, perhaps I received a faulty pair. They still deliver on comfort, hands down. Perhaps they are only meant for concrete or flat ground.
