NETGEAR 24-Port PoE Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Network Switch (GS324P)

For the price, this is a solid switch. Netgear makes quality products. Solid construction and very reliable. However, it does get warm and it is a little noisy. You will hear it if you are near it. Mine is in a closet, so it doesn't matter. It does the job and price is good.

Why I ordered this item: My camera setup outgrew my old 8 port switch and I needed something with more PoE ports and more power to spare. This one had enough ports left over for me to grow into too. Likes: * Setup really is plug and play. I hooked up a handful of cameras and an access point and everything just showed a link light and started passing traffic. * It's dead silent. No fan in this thing at all, so it sits in my closet and I never hear it running. I mounted mine in a rack but you could just as easily set it on a shelf. * I added a couple extra cameras right after my initial setup and none of my existing PoE gear dropped off or acted screwy. * Port lights on the front make it easy to see at a glance which ones are active. No likes: * There's zero configuration options. If you want VLANs or port monitoring you're out of luck, its purely plug and forget. * The power brick (well, its internal) runs warm. Not hot enough to worry me, but the top of the case gets noticeably warm to the touch. * No rack ears included. You have to buy those separate if you want to mount it properly. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: This is a good pick if you just need a pile of PoE ports and don't care about managing anything. Plug in a camera, an access point, whatever office gear you've got, and the port light just kicks on and starts moving data. If you need VLANs or any kind of management this isn't your switch.

I'm using about 20 of the 24 ports. Only 5 are going to POE devices but it's nice to know I have 11 others that I could use for possible future upgrades. Everything is working great. It was just plug and play as all unmanaged switches are. The size is great for my use case since it needed to fit on a small shelf. Rack mounting it isn't required.

Awesome port quantity. Great quality.

Worked as planned and so far so good. I haven't started using PoE devices yet, but that's next. As others have commented, it's noisy. Not a big deal for me as it's in my AV/Network closet, but if I leave the door open you can definitely hear it. Something to think about if you are planning on installing closer to where people are in the house/building.

Plug and play

I got this to manage all the extra ethernet connections in my house and it does it very well. I lost no speed going through the switch and got to crazy speeds. And, it has Poe+ so I was able to connect my Ubiquiti APs directly with no injector.

This stopped working within 3 months of purchasing and it's past the return window. Buyer beware!

great as usual
