The Staff of Moses a 4 star treasure hunting novel
Even though the take off on Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider was obvious, I still enjoyed this story. The hero was robust without being obnoxious, the heroine was not a withering wall flower, the father was not competing with the son's primary career field, the intermediate bad guys were really bad and the supernatural guardians were explained and described in detail. The scenes involving the archeology part were quite detailed and I found myself drawn in to the point of walking along with Oliver as he progressed on his quest for the Staff of Moses. (Also the secondary quest was described in enough detail to intrigue without giving away "the mechanism or the total conspiracy". This leaves lots of room for sequels. The ending was satisfying as the hero of course gets the girl but the reader gets to enjoy screwing over a politician. And these days who could not like that.I did notice several spelling errors and grammar errors which tended to throw me out of the story temporarily and should have been caught in editing. And the use of the chalk by the bad guys to navigate the maze could have been introduced more smoothly. But all in all this was for me a good rollicking fun read.

Good character development that fit well into the story
Lots of action well woven into the plot. Good character development that fit well into the story. You develop a liking for the main characters and are often on the edge of your with the situations they seem to have a penchant for getting themselves into. NOT for "grammar Nazi's" appears to have been dictated and then typed by someone with slight hearing loss. This is not a detriment to the book unless you are severely OCD. Enjoyed the religious slant, which could easily have been enlarged upon, and made into an AWESOME book, whereas it is only just GREAT! Excellent read with overtones of Indiana Jones, which the book admits and has fun with the concept.

An Enjoyable Read
Nice blend of Biblical history and fictional thriller. I agree with the other reviews, looks similar to an Indiana Jones adventure. The supernatural elements of the plot were a surprise but it does support this story. The ending was good, not really a surprise but the last several chapters seemed to leave out the final development of some strangers that helped the hero.I would certainly recommend this book.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I wanted to read an adventure and this author delivered. Oliver a tomb raider(not Lara croft) and photographer gets a job to find a artifact. Not just any artifact the staff of Moses. Oliver not only has to fight others who want the artifact too but also supernatural guardians. If U like tomb raiding adventures then this book is for U:)didn't give it a 5 for the ending but other than that enjoyed it!#

Page-turning fun
I very much enjoyed Staff of Moses. Oliver and Diana are smart, likeable characters, and the action is perfectly paced. This is the kind of book you look up from and realize a couple of hours have passed. What's not to like? Shadowy quasi-government conspiracies, fire-breathing zombie dogs, leaping from helicopters under gunfire.... if you like Indiana Jones or Dan Brown, you'll love Staff of Moses. I'm looking forward to the next Oliver Lucas book.

Fun read!
Really fun and enjoyable fantasy adventure book. It draws enough inspiration from The Mummy and Indiana Jones to satiate fans of those movies yet it retains an original personality all its own. It blends Biblical myth/history with its own internal world without diminishing or muddling up Abrahamic religions. On the flip side, it never seems preachy. I'll be reading more.

3.5 stars
3.5 stars is the rating that I would like to give this read. If typos really bother you, they don't really bother me, then skip this book. There are lots of them though. It was an interesting premise, but there weren't many twists in the plot line.

Really enjoyed this book, & will be reading more of them! Going with Oliver & Diana on their adventure in search of ancient Egyptian relics was exciting!

Indiana Jones & Lara Croft together in one book
A bit like reading the script of a film with a title like 'Tomb Raiders and the Raiders of the Lost Ark'; in fact you can almost picture scenes from any of the Indiana Jones/Lara Croft movies whilst you are reading the book. For all that though not a bad read, which thankfully (and unlike so many Kindle offerings) was well formatted in American but the niggle that spoilt the storyline for me was the references to previous Oliver Lucas 'discoveries' without a clear explanation about them or the result of the initial encounter with a 'baddie' in the opening chapters.

Reccommended action adventure read.
This is a book I can thoroughly reccommend. The action went at quite a fast pace, and the main characters were very believeable. I really felt as if I was in Egypt as the author made an excellent job of describing the desert and the people in it. I shall definitely be reading more of Mr Linkes books in future.

The Staff of Moses
I really enjoyed reading this book & look forward to reading the next two about Oliver Lucas. As someone who wants to know more about ancient Egypt this book was an easy read most of the time. Being British didn't help with some of the American wording but overall a good plot that brings you back wanting g more.

I downloaded this onto my Kindle when it was free. I have never read anything by this author before and was pleased that It is a very good adventure story Indiana Jones, Da Vinci code with supernatural elements along the way.
