I have them nestled in a warm cupboard in a nice cup of full fat organic milk.. busy activating. YAY! AM SOOOO HAPPPY. The starter had a lovely smell and they seemed alive... time will tell but right now I am a happy happy bunny.OKay two days later and I have KEFIR ... happy happy happy

Still fabulous after 6 months
I bought this nearly 6 months ago, and it (literally) goes from strength to strength, even after recovering from a frozen sample. Once you get used to it, you may like it stronger, but you can make it milder or stronger, depending on how long you let it grow.Tips:1) When you first start, use only a small amount of VERY fresh whole milk (about half a pint tops) and gradually increase once it gets going.2) Get a couple of fermenting jars as shown. Keep them clean.3) Once fermented, drain through a plastic sieve, then put about half of the solids back into the (cleaned) jar for the next batch. Throw the rest of the solids back in the liquids and blend with a hand-held blender, before putting in the fridge. This produces a nice thick liquid. You will never want to go back to the bland supermarket kefir. We add it to our breakfast, it goes well with granola and fruits.

Dissappointed
This product unfortunately didn't work. I have made my own kefir for years and from experience I can say that kefir grains should not be transported in a foil envelop but rather in a plastic container. I even payed for a 2 day delivery rather than a 4 day delivery as I wanted them to have the least stress in transit. Metal contact is not ideal when using kefir grains.

Great purchase
I brought these kefir grains because I wanted to start making my own kefir for the first time. They arrived on time and we'll packaged with a leaflet to get instructions off the site. Ive only had to purchase the grains once because they keep growing and I can freeze them for when I might need them later on.wpuld definitely recommend ๐

Good quality UK product
Love them - I am now converted to making kefir. The grains were healthy and I had no problem getting them started. They have multiplied already after a couple of weeks.

Happy but needed and still needs patience.
I had to wait 6 days for the grains to arrive by post. They appeared to be well packed and healthy, judging by their colour. I had ordered 10g and I weighed them at 9g but its no biggie this might have been my scaleโs error. After reading carefully the instructions I tried to follow them precisely and in 7 days I noticed that the kefir they produced began having a decent taste and I started consuming it. Today (day 12, last picture) I can say the taste has improved even more, although I do think there is more room for it. I think it has about doubled in size as well.Generally I am content with my purchase, especially considering that kefir grains are hard to find, so I think it is well worth it. ๐

Better than shop bought products
Works exactly as the instructions tell you. The kefir grains hydrated within 72 hours and from the second ferment onwards have performed really well. After making 5 litres of kefir, the grains are ready to divide, to double my production.
