The narrow brim provides sun protection without obstructing the field of vision. It's mostly for safety on the golf course because its distinctive shape offers more visibility to people approaching from behind. Or when I'm rummaging around in the woods for lost balls. Perhaps it would offer some resistance to a stray ball, too. If there's a hint of breeze it actually does have a bit of a cooling effect compared to a costume type one, and it's constructed pretty well. On the down side - the adjustable Velcro strips are a bit scratchy, and overall the hat is bigger than expected. It'd look smarter and less awkward if it were scaled down a little.

Working outdoors in Florida. Sturdy,neat, lightweight.

All Good, I worry about the sweat band holding up. I have it on in the pool and it gets wet sometimes.

Good price, strong hat (it saved me getting a bump on my head several times) . I have been buying 2 of these every summer for a while now. Very happy.
