DOQAUS Meat Thermometer, 3s Instant Read Food Thermometer With Backlight

I use this device to measure the temperature of my aquarium water to make sure its ready to be transferred to the tank. Pros: -Readings are excellent. They're precise, reliable and fast. The minimum and maximum readings being -50 degrees Celsius to 300 degrees Celsius is overkill for my needs but its definitely a bonus. -Buttons to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit and set min/max temps are convenient. -Hold button to pause at the current temperature is also handy. -Auto-off: Great feature, preserves battery life by turning the device off automatically when you fold the needle back to its original position, housed in the device. Most of all, you don't have to worry about turning it off. -Easily stored: The fold-out needle makes it really simple to just pop into a drawer or even in your pocket if you need to keep it on your person whilst using it. -Sturdiness: The fold-in/out mechanism for the needle ensures that the needle isn't even slightly wobbly when penetrating objects. -Thermometer still active until fully folded back in, allowing for a lot of different positions. -Auto-rotating screen: This is a fantastic bonus that I didn't expect. The screen will rotate 180 degrees whichever way you have it upright. -Magnetic: It has a little magnet on the back to make it even easier to keep around. Cons: -Screen backlight timer: Goes off in about 10-15 seconds after you push the button. Can be annoying to keep pressing the button to light up the screen. -Stiffness of fold-in/out mechanism: I feel like this could be smoother but honestly it helps to keep the needle sturdy when penetrating objects. -Rattling: I thought my device had a broken piece of plastic or a loose ball baring inside at first as it was rattling at the slightest movement. Turns out that there is a warning sticker on the device as you can see in the attached pictures: "You may hear a rattling noise when you shake the thermometer because there is a gravity sensor inside". The noise can be annoying but it's really not that bad. -Battery door comes loose quite easily, only takes a 45 degree turn for it to open but the battery stays locked in place which I can't really fault. Overall, it's a great little device. My main gripe with it is that the screen backlight doesn't stay on, I'd prefer an on/off switch or if it just stayed on the whole time. I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's really simple to use and it does the job well. Worth it.

I purchased this food thermometer after finally getting myself a slow cooker because I was still a bit unsure if the meat was cooked properly in it and I wanted to be sure to avoid making the family sick. It's a really handy piece of kit. Super simple to use, easy to read and accurate. The first thing I did was test it in a pot of boiling water to make sure and it measured the temperature at 100.2°C so I'm happy that it measures correctly. It turns on automatically when you unfold the probe and switches off automatically when you fold it back up again which is good because it means I can't leave it switched on by accident and drain the battery. It has a handy backlight for the display to make reading the thermometer easier, which you can turn on with a quick press of a button. Hold the same button down and the thermometer readout will switch between °C and °F depending on which you prefer. To take the temperature of the food just stick the probe in the thickest part and wait a few seconds for the readout on the display to stabilise. It's that easy. It also comes with a handy temperature guide printed on the back of the thermometer for the most popular cooked meats and a more detailed paper guide too. I keep mine in the box in my cupboard but it does have a magnet on the back if you wish to store it stuck to the fridge so it's within easy reach. You may notice a rattling sound when using the thermometer, this is not a fault with the product as explained by a label attached to it. It is because the device contains a gravity sensor to allow the display to rotate depending on whether the user is right or left handed, which is a neat feature. The price of this product was very reasonable. In fact I was concerned that it may be too cheap to be much good but I was wrong. It's a fab little food thermometer that I now use everyday. I wish I'd got one sooner.

I’ve been using this thermometer for about two months now while cooking meat and baking, and overall it performs well. It gives quick readings and seems accurate based on cross-checks with boiling water and other tools I’ve used. ✅ Pros: • Very quick to use—just unfold the probe and it powers on instantly. • Switches easily between °C and °F. • Good value for the price and gets the job done reliably so far. ❌ Cons: • It’s not waterproof, so you can't rinse or wash it like many would assume. I missed this detail initially (it is listed in the product description). • You’re advised not to touch the probe directly (at all?), but you need to unfold it manually—which feels a bit contradictory. • The build feels a bit flimsy, especially the plastic housing. Summary: It’s a useful and affordable kitchen tool if you’re careful with handling and cleaning it. Just be sure to clean the probe with a damp cloth and avoid submerging or running it under water. Will revisit this review if long-term use brings up anything new.

Great product, easy to use and accurate

If you're like me, and a little anxious when it comes to food safety and hygiene, this is the perfect tool for you! I LOVE knowing that when I cook,everything is cooked to safe levels and now ensures that I dont overcook and dry out my meat or burn it just for the hope of not having food poisoning! I really highly recommend this, it really ensures that you are safely cooking food and also letting it be cooked perfectly so its not overdone. One issue which is more our problem, is that its hard not to get water on most of it. I'd rather it be fully water proof for when accidents like it slipping into a sink full of water happens! So this is actually the second food thermometer I've bought due to this exact reason and it no longer working! Been more careful with this one. But it is extremely affordable so not too worried if it were to happen again. Get this, you wont be disappointed with how useful it is!!

Very easy to use and easy to clean. Digital reading is clear and easy to read. Does the job perfectly.

I found this thermometer really useful, it has a convenient magnet on the back which allows it to stick easily to the side of my grill while cooking. There’s a helpful meat temperature guide on the back also which helps inform your temperature choices. It reads relatively quickly and is quick to pick up changes as well. The only downside is that the temperature interface will rotate to face you but for some checks I was doing it would rotate the opposite direction due to my moving it around, so it’s a bit sensitive, though it’s more of a minor annoyance than anything wrong with the device itself.

Product has already stopped working - request replacement asap. Replacement recieved - swiftly. New one is working. V grateful.
