Window Regulator Repair Clip and Bracket Holder - Metal - Front Left B for VW Golf 4 Jetta 4 (Bora) MK4

I chose to keep the clips installed on the regulator replacement kit I ended up using. I bought these but I wasn't totally impressed vs the OEM design. The redesigned VW clip is much better than the original OEM clip, utilizes a stronger plastic, and has a better fit than these. These metal ones will totally work, but they have some play because the metal housing would have no way of installing if it wasn't a little loose. The OEM parts are designed to pop on, but they fit snug. I also see potential for these clips to hit the regulator sliders and remove the smooth painted finish, so over time it may corrode or sound awful.I would wager a guess that they would slide just fine with the window installed in them, because they would be held straight, but I didn't feel like installing them just to test that so I stuck with the VW parts. FYI, the VW parts use brown plastic (the stuff that doesn't break) for the main structure, and the white teflon plastic on contact surfaces, rather than the entire thing being made up of teflon or whatever brittle plastic they were.I didn't use them so I can't say how functional they are, but if someone needs I can find the photos I took comparing these to the newly designed VW parts. I got my parts through Auburn VW, including the cables and reels, and they weren't much more.

If you are going to tare your door open and replace one, please save yourself the time and replace both. Works on my MK4 99.5 Golf TDI. They are heavy duty replacements and they work great. Much better than the original plastic pieces.

Second set purchased. Didn't have to install, though, as the ones in the door that I went to work on were OK. I'll keep this set as spares.

Just what I needed! Works perfect! Looking forward to my window not ever falling into the door again! hah!
