Why does this product have a strong Citrus odor ?
This is a great EPA and DHA supplement which is totally Vegan, The bottle contains a Citrus scented desiccant which causes the product to have a strong Citrus odor.

They are the best value I have found for 2,000 mg vegan Omega-3s (DHA+EPA)
I did the math, being careful to take into account equivalent dosages per servings in a bottle for DHA+EPA Omega-3s and these came out on top at the time of purchase, so now I have them on subscription. The taste is slightly "fishy", which is OK because I swallow them immediately. Other brands I have tried have been worse off for taste, so this is a win, in a relative sense. They are your typical large capsules, but there isn't much of a way to get around that. The dosage per capsule is lower than fish-based supplements, so I end up taking them 6 at a time twice a day (based on PubMed report on reducing serum triglyceride and increasing HDL-cholesterol) for improved cardiovascular health and general reduction on systemic inflammatory mediators. As a side note, different Omega numbers have different, and sometimes contradictory effects, so while Omega-3s are anti-inflammatory other types are pro-inflammatory, so just buying a bottle of mixed Omega fatty acids may not be the best approach for your specific needs.

Most omega-3 in a vegan supplement per dollar
It may appear expensive, but (last I checked) it has the lowest price per total omega-3 fatty acid content. I wasn't bothered by its smell the first time I bought it. I should probably buy it again.

Price is high, doesn’t seem as effective as a similar counterpart.
I initially gave these a good review. I take another similar formulation (roughly 2-3 years now) that is recently back on amazon (but was off for a while leading me to take these) — both are powdered algae and have essentially the same stats per pill. This one is 10$ more expensive for the same amount of pills with the same stats, which I do not like. I also don’t know if they are made in the same factory as they look very similar — but these ones do not smell kind of fishy like the other ones do. Initially I was excited about that, but now I feel worried they have lesser efficacy despite being very similar. I feel better taking the other brand, and I do not think it is just the price. Perhaps the batches I got from this brand had just sat in warehouses too long — I had 3-4 bottles in total and was taking these for about 6 months (roughly 800mg a day). The last batch I got felt like it really was not working. Overall, it’s a decent choice. I think they should re-evaluate the effects of the warehouse option. Prime is nice but not if it results in customers getting subpar quality. The other brand recommends refrigeration after opening and has more of a vacuum seal with their bag.

Inconsistent fishiness
4 bottles so far. Two were good, minimal algae taste. Two very sea like taste. What you would call fishy. The two fishy tasting ones had green flecks in the capsules. This suggests their batch had some qc issues. Another reviewer commented the same. Still, it has the right ratio of EPA:DHA or at least an acceptable one (EPA>DHA) and it's effective so I have to give it decent stars. I'll try taking it with cinnamon to combat the taste.

It works great!
It's been so hard to find algae omega 3 that isn't in softgel form. I'm so happy I found these omega 3 powder supplements! These have worked the best for me by far! It really is the best omega 3 ever!

Very good product
This really is the best Omega 3s ever. It's kind of a pain that it's 4 pills but it's worth it, in my mind. It has more EPA than the GNC triple strength fish oil. That's very unique for a vegan Omega 3 supplement. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a vegan Omega 3 product.

New fishy taste Nov 2023, product may not be algae based anymoer
I've used this product many times and not experienced fishy odor or taste before, but a bottle delivered Nov 2023 was distinctly fishy smelling upon opening, capsules taste like fish and I've had fishy burps. I think the formula has changed, or at least this batch, includes fish. This is why I'm giving it 1 star. Previously, I gave it 5 stars. I have tried contacting Ginspire Nutrition directly to report this, but can't find contact info or a company website. I have no idea if this is the batch #, but code next to the date on the bottom of the bottle is PBA 279 120CT. If someone at the manufacturer would contact me, I'd be happy to send this bottle to them for testing.
