No luck with locksmith programming l.
FOB wouldn’t take programming from the locksmith, they say these FOB’s are a 50/50 proposition, didn’t work for my 2006 Buick LaCrosse.

Don't have to take to dealer for activation
Door open button stopped working. Tried YouTube suggestion of using aluminum foil at contact location. Car would start honking as I walked away from car. Decided to buy a new (inexpensive) remote and take it to dealer for activation. Realized that all I had to do was put the old, already activated electronic 'panel' in the new remote. Dealer interaction not required.
