Question 1

How do the tips hold up? Are the tips firm or are the brushes very floppy and soft? Have you actually tried these for painting models like Infinity?

I bought these specifically to paint miniatures. They are usless way over priced and I do not recommend. They will not hold the tip. They splay out and are soft. If you are looking for brushes that keep their tips, I've had great success with the very cheap brushes from Hobby Lobby. Like $4 a pack for several brushes ranging in sizes from 0 up to 3.

Hiya, would these be good for miniature painting?

Overall, I recommend you try a set of these. I use a variety of brushes for painting historical 15mm, 20mm and 28mm military miniatures including Windsor Newton and Army Painter. I bought this set recently as a 'value' all purpose set of brushes.  The 2/0, 3/0 and 5/0 are extra fine for detail work (e.g. collars, buttons, etc) and so far seem to be holding up well.  The #1 brush is similar to the Army Painter Standard/Regiment brush.  Since I have only been using them for several weeks I cannot say how they will "hold up" in the long run, but for the money I believe them to be a good value as they provide a large range of sizes and uses. One other thing,  I paint 'a LOT' but tend to get good mileage out my brushes cleaning them thoroughly during and after painting sessions with "The Masters, Brush Cleaner and Preserver." So depending on how you take care of your brushes may affect how this set 'stands up."

These brushes are advertised as Kolinsky sable. What proof do you have to show us they are in fact Kolinsky sable?

I don't have any proof.  However, they are excellent brushes and they absorb the water color paint wonderfully and the brush strokes are great.
