VICARKO Hair Steamer Thermal Heat Cap for Deep Conditioning Hawaii Blue

Just used it today for the first time and it was great. I think it automatically cools down after a certain amount of time, so it doesn't burn your head. So, I shut it off and switched it back on and it was fine. Then I think the automatic timer shut off again, but I was done. I sat under it for about an hour in total. It really is an improvement over just wearing a plastic bag over my head. I did a hot castor oil treatment today and it really penetrated my strands and scalp. I've been suffering from fairy knots for abut a year. I got a trim before covid and got rid of all the knotted strands, but they started coming back and I leave my hair braided. The hot oil treatment was great and I didn't have any knots when I rinsed my hair out, which is really great since I've never had them before. I'm hoping the hot oil treatments will address the slow growing hair at the crown of my head. About a year and a half ago it stopped growing. I think it may be due to two head injuries I suffered. So, we will see. I noticed I lost quite a bit of feeling in the crown area of my scalp and after the hot oil treatment it actually has more feeling. (Scalp trauma can cause scar tissue to develop hindering hair growth and hot castor oil treatments is a natural remedy for getting rid of scar tissue). So fingers crossed the caster oil works and this heating cap continues to work. I used a plastic cap on my head and then put the heating cap on because I don't want the oil and conditioner to get all over the heating cap. I'd rather through the bag away instead of having the clean the heating cap. Overall, it fit my head great, it's very comfortable to wear while I worked on my laptop at the kitchen table. I have an extension cord right by my laptop so the short cord wasn't a hassle. Overall, I would buy this cap again.

I want to first make it clear that this hair steamer actually warms your hair for a deep condition. It does not dry your hair so don’t give a bad review for that. I found it to be well made. I’ve used it a few times so far and really like it. I love that the heat mainly stays on my hair and not heat the entire room, making it hot. I like the safety feature where it turns off after 15 minutes although others complain about this. Most times by the time I notice that it has cooled down its warming back up again. The cord is long enough for me as I sit in a chair right in front of the outlet. I like to use it 30 minutes or so at a time. I have hair down to the middle of my back when straightened and it fits my head just fine. I use a plastic cap on my hair and then put the steamer on. I can tell a difference in the manageability of my hair, in conjunction with a good conditioner. My hair is over processed and this has helped a lot. I felt softness for the first time in awhile. I wish I had bought this a long time ago. I would highly recommend!

UPDATE: After having this for months, I finally found the right conditioning products for my hair (very important) & this cap does help penetrate & seal in my moisture!! I no longer use it for deep conditioning. That did not work for me. What has worked exceptionally well is applying my leave in conditioner, putting a cheap clear conditioning cap on & then sitting with this thermal cap for 20 minutes. My hair feels like velvet every time I take my hair out & then blow dry it! Oh and i tried the pin curls & setting it with this & it was an absolute fail lol. 4 stars total because its still claiming to be a steamer & it is not. Other than that, I am VERY pleased! I recommend. Original review: This product does exactly what is says it will do and that's providing an even heat throughout a cap. But it is in no way a steamer. I thought i might have assumed that it was on my own but the product is labeled as a steamer thermal cap so its misrepresenting itself there. With that said, the cap has a cute print, has a high, low, & off setting, and heats evenly throughout. It did not help with deep conditioning my hair which is why I bought it but that could be my hair's fault. Its stubborn, low porosity, & a moody teenage girl lol. I'm a natural girl with 4a hair on a good day but I think my relaxed girls with no longer than shoulder length hair could get great use out of this. I also think this cap has potential for setting DRY styles. I plan to pin curl my hair & try setting it with this instead of a blow dryer. Curious to see what the results will be.

I’m just going to save you from scrolling, BLACK WOMEN this is a winner. I have natural hair with the lowest of porosities and this has easily been my best purchase this year. I have a normal hooded steamer that I also bought from Amazon about five years ago, but I travel a lot for my job so my hair has been suffering because I clearly can’t drag that around. I didn’t even know this kind of thing existed so I decided to try it without any real expectations. However!! It is a game changer. It’s exactly what I needed, fits in a carry-on, foldable, and just perfect to get the job done. The heat settings are great, I always use mine on high. The drawstring is super useful! I like to draw mine as close to my head as possible so that I get my entire head. Part of the problem with the hooded steamer is that it gets the top and front really well but the back often suffers. Not the case with this portable steamer. I can’t give this enough praise. No more dripping around the ears or wiping my forehead from open steam. Make sure you use it with a plastic cap! Thank me later!

I like using this! The heat is good - doesn't get too hot. Sometimes it seems as if it doesn't stay hot for long, maybe 15 - 20 mins, then it starts to cool off, but for some conditioners, that's all I need. Feels good on my head.

The steamer works well for deep conditioning and heats up nicely, but the cap didn’t fit my head properly. The snap tie tends to slide and won’t lock securely, and the material feels stiff, which makes it harder to adjust and keep in place. Because of this, it was uncomfortable to use for longer sessions. Effective for steaming, but the fit and design need improvement.

I absolutely have never spent my money on something more valuable than this, on Amazon. My heating cap arrived today and I immediately put it to use. My 3b/3c Low porosity hair needed heat for deep conditioning. Upon research I uncovered, I needed to add heat. I tried it today and my hair was silky smooth. I love how fast it started heating and it does have a setting that minimizes burning but lowering the heat temporarily until it cools off. I used it for 30 minutes and never felt burning. It works well. Fits my big head, lol and it's only $20. Again money well spent, I can't wait to continue using it. It's very lightweight, you will barely feel it on your head.

I like its temperature, the results are amazing and now i can deep conditioning treatment at home. So more money wastage
