*insert lovey eyes*
The Tragic campaign is over and Rook's new contract is just starting. The Sturgis contract with Spencer! *insert lovey eyes*3 months of Spencer painting her naked body and posing with his bikes. What she overlooked in her attempt to be "in control" of her life and be independent of Ronin was that she would also be filmed 24/7 for a T.V series.Oh, the contract also gives her a producer... Spencer and Ronin's longtime friend/partner in crime, Ford * swoon*.Ronin is off saving the day for Claire while she is in rehab most of the time, which leaves Rook with conflicting feelings about their relationship. Throw in her newly found relationships with Spencer and Ford, and things are bound to get a little messy for everyone.Rook and Spencer have a very easy going friendship but Ford, he gets under her skin, frustrates her more than anyone and pushes her to do more but she can't help but gravitate towards him. I mean hello, he is Ford, and besides, he's feeling run a little more than just friendship. But when her past comes knocking, all three men in her life band together to keep her safe, at all cost."Your first impression of Spencer should be dumb…Your first impression of Ford should be well-dressed #asshole, but maybe a little on the weak side….Your first impression of me should be honest, trustworthy guy…Your first impressions would be #deadass wrong in all three cases."

Under The Cherry Trees
Wow was this a good continuation in the Rook and Ronin series. The connections, relationships and interactions just seemed to grew with all these characters. I loved the introductions to the new characters and what that could possibly mean for future stories.I loved Rook and Ronin, right from the beginning they had a great connection when through all the ups and downs. I loved how Ronin never gave up, he stuck around and become IT for Rook. I absolutely enjoyed their interactions.I loved how sexy all that body painting was, including those photo shoots, I really enjoyed the connection she had with Spencer throughout the book even when Ronin was around.I loved how Ronin, Ford and Spencer were always baiting each other. I loved their interactions especially when they were altogether and the banter they had between them. And these guys just had my heart bursting like they couldn’t be any more perfect. I loved those revelations about the guys, although I had a feeling it still came as a shock and I can’t wait to know more about it (hopefully!).I felt like the end of the book rushed a little bit as I thought the Sturgis walk would’ve played a bigger part in the story as it all did lead up to that. After everything that went down towards the end, to me it seemed like it was over rather quickly. There were some parts that were a little confusing for me and had me questioning why but it was still very much a good read4.5 stars

Google wiped out my review!
I spent an hour writing a thoughtful assessment of Rooks downward spiral of recklessnes! After a modeling contract is accepted by Rook against the advise of business partners, she undergoes humiliating and degrading contractual obligations! The question remains why would she accepted the ill treatment throughout her young life? The answer, she compartmentalized the horrors in order to survve! She is experiencing the five stages of grief beginning with denial!. This bodes well for her future healing and acceptance! When her savage husband comes for her, she knows he will hurt and kill her! She fights back! That's the shortened review of the book. Maybe this version is better for it's brevity

Chasing Dreams
Rook impetuously signs the Sturgis contract with Spencer. She has no idea how much work will go into the project. The long hours of having her body painted, the invasion of a film crew folliwing her every move, and cameras in her apartment for a grueling three months. She must learn to deal with both Ford and Spencer while Ronin is dealing with Clare. Animosity and intrigue seem to surround Ronin, Spencer and Ford. Their history seems to be a flashpoint and tempers simmer just under the surface when the get close proximity of each other. And, yet when when Rook's past finally catches up with her these men step up to protect her. Ronin is hopelessly in love with Rook and promises her the life she's dreamed of once the Sturgis job is completed. Now she must decide if she wants to become a runner again or become the chaser of her dreams and his love.

And THIS is why Spencer is my favorite!
This is when I fall for Spencer Shrike. I know that this is still Rook and Ronin's story, but THIS is Spencer Shrike. STURGIS, painting naked girls, the bikes, the kisses, the guns, the bad boy you love to want. This is still very much Rook's story. Her story and development with Ronin. Their story as they navigate the waters that involve her ex and his family and the animosity between Ronin, Ford, and Spencer.I know most people fall for Ford because, well, how could you not? He's READING TO ROOK. He's helping her in ways Ronin cannot. But the dynamic between the boys, the introduction of the drama and the crazy that is Rook's past?Well, these boys can handle anything. And this is when you get a glimpse of the magic they can do.Enjoy the ride. Book 2 is over, STURGIS is finished, but what comes next for this group? This TEAM?!

Love Rook and Ronin ❤
Second time around and Manic still keeps me on my toes. This is the first book Ford appears in. Although the three (Ronin, Spencer and Ford) act as though they hate being in the same room with each other you can just tell there is an odd bond. Rook and Ronin continue to get closer even though they have bumps in the road. Rook is also developing relationships with Spencer and Ford. She is beginning to build a little crew of her own for the first time. She thinks she's finally able to move on but unfortunately danger lerks in the darkest of places ready to come for you.

JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST ONE!!
This is the second book about Rook and Ronin, the first one being 'Tragic' which was a fantastic read. This one did also not disappoint. It follows on about the relationship between Rook and Ronin and how things turn around for Rook after having such a tragic life. She finally manages to rid herself of Jon, her demon ex and it is very clever the way this comes about especially when Ronin and his two old school friends Ford and Spencer get involved. Great writing and such a different story than the usual 'love story' with lots of humour in and also a dark side to it too which I loved. I would love to have more books written about the other characters in this series, like Ford, Spencer, Elise and Antoine. I'm just about to read book 3 'Panic' and I can't wait!

Okay read
Rook is now nude modelling for Spencer and Ronin is upset because she signed the contract and didn't read what was expected of her. Cameras are watching as he paints and they are in her room following her everywhere. She finds out her ex knows where she is and she panics knowing what he will do to her. The guys make a plan to catch him out.

Loving Rook and Ronin' s journey!
I really like this author's writing style and loved this 2nd book. I enjoyed the journey Rook is on seeing her growing stronger, although there are some difficult past revelations which are heart breaking to read. It was lovely to see her developing relationship with Ronin and the friendships formed with Ford and Spencer, also learning about their past. Looking forward to book three.

great character development
This one was great for the characters for me. It delved more into the main four, developed them, seeing more of who they really are and their past and it was great reading about. I felt for all the characters and mistakes they had made. I almost felt the action sequence was a little short, but it was a good scene for Rook and learning to stand up for herself. This series is different from others as the girl questions her need for a boyfriend, wants to be self sufficient and independent and it's a nice change :)

Rook
Book 2, following Rooks journey through the Sturgis contract. I could not put this down - just finished at 2.30am. We meet Ford, and get to know Rook, Ronin, and Spencer better. And I love Rook. She's a sassy character. The dialogue is perfect. And even though it's the middle of the night, I am itching to start the next book.

Manic: Rook and Ronin, #2
I'm absolutely loving this series, Rook is a great character, she's had an awful start in life, bad childhood, abusive partner and now she's found love and happiness with Ronin, however much I like Ronin's character I feel there could be something more with Ford. I can't wait to read book #3 in the series and then onto Ford Taut.

Love this series
I read this in one sitting, couldn't put it down. There is a new character introduced called Ford, Ronin hates him and Rook is not keen at first. The story reveals what happened between Ronin Spencer and Ford when they were younger

Loved it
This trilogy is superb. It isn't cookie cutter. It isn't saccharine and soft. No, this romance grabs you by the hair and pulls hard! If you like your romance with a hard edge buy this book.

Enjoyable book #2....
I enjoyed reading more of Rook & Ronin, really likeable characters. In fact I like all the characters especially Ford and Spencer. Don't know how they do some of the phone shoots, they are definitely hot and steamy. Off to start Panic book #3 now :-)
