Bought in 2016, Still Love Them, Perfect Size, One-Hand Use, Great Buy
I bought six of these metal, magnetic, spice tins in 2016. I have thoroughly enjoyed them! I keep my less used spices in the cabinet. However, I wanted quick access to my most used spices, while cooking. I keep mine on the stove. However, the magnetic base covers the entire bottom and is quite strong. So, they'll securely stick anywhere...With that said, I use mine daily and have simply worn them out! A couple of the closure covers are lose and I finally broke the cover on one end. The lids and tins themselves are still in perfect condition. However, after thousands of openings/closures, the plastic finally gave way. I did not expect these to last a lifetime. And I'm very surprised they've endured daily use for over 8 years. I could easily use them without the cover, but since they're exposed on the stove, I prefer them covered. I would definitely recommend these, as I am ordering myself another set.I've included pictures to better show all 3 pieces of the shaker and how they fit together. As you would others, I suggest periodically cleaning them for optimal function and to prevent buildup, esp when used over steaming meals.Note: I read a comment that the lid would not close after filling and it fell off during use. This has never happened to me. The metal tin has a small lip at the top, ensuring a tight and secure fit. You can hear a click, when the lid is pressed down completely. Unless the lid was faulty, I can only see this happening if it were overfilled or not pressed down completely. Also, there was a comment that the spout cover would not close. In my 8 years of experience, this only happens if there's an accumulation around the pour/shaker spout. The other possibility could be if the cover was used to pull off the lid vs grabbing the lid itself. (Which I did once) Since it takes a good tug to get the lid off, if the cover was pulled, esp at the wrong angle, it could have damaged or stretched the plastic. Otherwise, they have been extremely durable and have well outlasted my expectations.

Great space savers
So I have a lot of spices and they ate up a lot of valuable counter and/or cabinet space so being able to have them up on the fridge is just fantastic. There is a bit of a trick to getting them down, you really need to make sure you grab the metal sides and not the top which will totally pop off in your hand and spill your spices everywhere. I have managed w/o issue so far, my husband learned to be more careful after spilling cinnamon everywhere. I am considering some small tabs of tape on the edges to reduce the risk of pulling the lids off accidentally but we'll see if ut is needed. I have only had them up a few weeks so we'll see how they do long term. But, so far so good.Of the 3 packs of 24 I got I only had 1 magnet that wasn't quite as strong as the others and slides a little so I just made sure it had something light inside and it has held up alright. The others all had very strong holds, which is why you want to be sure to grip the metal sides well.Oh, also recommend keeping the pour spout corner on the top, so really fine powder spices don't sift out.

Best magnetic spice boxes.
Love the way they look ,functionality. Tight fitting lids, they don't come with labels that would have been nice.

JUST RIGHT
OMG, I don't know how it took me so long to find these, they are 100% what I needed and perfect! I used to have those round magnetic spice jars with metal lid, but I live near the beach in Hawaii and the metal lid + metal jar scheme doesn't work. Everything metal gets rusty/corroded immediately here, and within like a year jars started to get stuck so I couldn't twist or pull the tops off. I thought I was going to have to get the way more expensive glass jars with the magnetic tops, until I found these. The metal jar with plastic top- YESSSSSS! ANd the little flippy things to scoop or shake out the spices, so I don't have to take the entire lid off every time? LOVE IT. The magnet is really strong, and they are they perfect size for a normal spice jar from the store. Also the fact that they are square instead of round means I'll be able to fit more on my magnetic board. I guess I'll see if they aren't useable in two years, but I think this is the perfect solution.

Magnets are strong, lids are weak (it's not the lids)
The media could not be loaded. Plot twist - I bought some glass spice jars with screw on lids, and as I was rinsing out these magnetic ones, I noticed water leaking from the bottom of the tins. I don't know about you, but being airtight is job one of a quality spice container. These are not, and I would totally avoid them.I've read that some people are having a hard time with the magnets. I use mine on the side of the fridge, not the door, so they don't get jostled or shaken and they grip quite firmly. I don't know why you would put them on the door, unless you don't have access to the sides. My problem is that some of the lids aren't very tight. This means you have to be really careful and grab them by the base when you're taking one off the fridge. Also, they're not airtight - several of my powdered spices have turned into a small square brick after sitting in the container for a few months. I'm going to try a different brand and see if they work better.
