Not large sores, but the small paper cuts, splinter wounds, etc. I use it on all wounds that keep splitting open. Neosporin is an antibiotic cream used to minimize the bacteria in the wound. New skin has a protective covering combined with an antiseptic. Totally different. **Q: Can I use it on my cat? How does it come off?** A: I would recommend calling or emailing your Vet before using any products designed for humans on a cat or dog since they can be very sensitive to chemicals that do not bother us. A dog or cat will also lick anything applied to their skin and ingest the chemicals. New skin usually flakes off in a few days, but a cat will lick it off in a few hours. **Q: Does this have expiration date?** A: Yes, mine says EXP: 02/19 though I bought this months ago. Works great, I always have some on hand. **Q: how often do you have to reapply.. every couple of hours or every couple of days?** A: Hi I bought the spray as well and love them both apply every couple of days depending on where the cut/wound is. I favor my left elbow while relaxing in bed looking out my 3 bedroom windows facing south at our neighborhood park across the street, and high rise buildings less than a mile away. My right elbow isn’t affected at all. Please believe me, this product is Awesome! It’s very comforting, doesn’t sting, easy to apply, and dries very quickly. It should be the only product considered for various conditions, and has been a ‘Lifesaver’ for me. At age 70, I strongly recommend this as the Very ‘Best’ Product for various conditions. I ordered butterfly bandages and New Skin and used traditional fabric bandages while waiting for my order to arrive. Of course washing that part of my hand was impossible during the day. I applied new skin for the first time along with the butterfly bandages and it really burned. I believe the severity of the sting correlates with the severity of the injury. Because I put a thick application on the wound it took several minutes to dry. I soon was able to discontinue using the butterfly bandages as New Skin worked as an adhesive. Soon I was able to apply only New Skin and nothing else, which allowed me to freely wash that part of my hand again without immediately replacing a wet bandage. I believe New Skin has certainly aided in a quick recovery and kept the wound clean, secure and intact throughout the healing process. I will certainly continue to use this product in the future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for scrapes and cuts *by on Reviewed in the United States January 30, 2026* I hike and carry this with me every trip. I have been using this for years and haven't found anything that works as well for sealing and protecting cuts and scrapes. It is very thin and goes on easily with the brush applicator that is built into the cap. The bottle is very thick and can take a drop without breaking. The liquid bandage stings when applied, but that only lasts a few seconds. It dries within a minute or so and forms a hard protective surface. I don't think this can stop bleeding with deep cuts, but works well with scrapes, scuffs, and minor cuts. I usually buy the 0.3 oz. bottle because a liitle goes a long way.
