## Description

This book is for postgraduate fellows, internists, and students interested in rheu- tology. It contains real cases and is designed to stimulate thought and further reading in this rapidly evolving specialty. I have included a series of common and uncommon cases that I have seen over the past decade in a busy consultative practice and have inserted up-to-date ref- ences and questions you may be asked on ward rounds or in clinic. My hope is that it will be a useful adjunct for physicians preparing for examinations or entering the field and will stimulate further interest. I would like to acknowledge my mentors Pierre Bouloux, MD, Tom Cooney, MD and thank Atul Deodhar, MD for his careful review of the manuscript. This book is dedicated to my parents and wife Batool who have made many sacrifices for which I remain eternally grateful. Lab work is unrema- able apart from normocytic anemia and Howell Jolly bodies on peripheral smear. Her examination reveals a blistering rash on the elbows.

Review: Good but Short - A well-done book, but a bit short. Explanations are brief, and the reader will of course need to go to other sources for more detail. Would make a decent adjunct study guide, but is not intended to be even close to comprehensive. If you are looking for a board-review or shelf-exam-review item, the title of this book promises far too much. Overall, feels more like a collection of one clinician's "interesting cases I have seen that contained good teaching points."
Review: Complex Cases with concise but illuminating discussions - I read this book for my Medical and ID boards. It is not meant to be a comprehensive review but the book does present very important clinical pearls in short, but well thought-out clinical cases. The cases are great in real life patient care and helped in answering some tougher board questions. I Look forward to more books and future editions from the author. Thanks!

### ⭐ Not worth the purchase
*by H***R on November 21, 2018*

The book contains poor quality questions. The book is of little use to a rheumatology follow or someone beyond their medical school training. It is more applicable to a medical student with no knowledge of rheumatology whatsoever.
