12-Pack JACKYLED Non-Shunted Turn-Type T8 Lamp Holder UL Socket Tombstone with 10 inches Wires Attached for LED Fluorescent Tube Replacements

These worked great at replacing some florescent tube shop lights that unfortunately got broken by a 2 x 4. The wires are plenty long and with two spots to connect on each side, they were easy to rewire the same way the commercial ones had been. Made fixing the shop lights a breeze. No flickering, worked great.

I never knew the difference between shunted and unshunted. Now I do, yet I'm no wiser. Bought a dozen of these LED Tombstones to upgrade my existing antiquated fluorescent tube fixture. Did a bunch of research before I ordered. Expected a no-brainer installation. WRONG. These parts didn't fit my tombstone holders. No fault of the seller, of course. It's all about no conformity in the industry. Anyways, in the first picture, you see how these fit in my holder. They didn't. Again, no fault of the seller, but they just didn't work for my existing equipment. The second picture shows how I used a mini-grinder to cut the holder back to the depth of the new tombstones. I cut partway through the end of the slot I needed and folded it back, crimping it with a pair of vice-grips. Picture 3 shows the cut and folded holders. Picture 4 shows the new tombstones fitted nicely into the holder. Not perfectly, but close enough. Picture 5: Finally the test. The LED tubes fit nicely into the new tombstones and my jusry rigged test was a success. The bottom line is these parts are worth the investment and do the job flawlessly. Can't blame the seller. Dimensions were provided on the listing. However, be prepared to jury rig your existing equipment if you want to make them work in your equipment.

First, let me say that these work great and aren't hard to install. I just wanted to point out a few issues I came across while installing these. 1. I didn't see that they only come with 10 inch leads. That isn't going to make the gap on a 4ft setup. It required sections of wire to make the connections. 2. The tombstones aren't as universal as the pictures others have shared and youtube will make them seem. My house was built in 87 and my existing light had clips holding the tombstones in place, not the easy slide in slide out stuff I saw. However, these tombstones do have a groove in them that you can use a self tapping sheet metal screw as a mount. Neither of those is a big problem, just something to plan for while you order them. Added a a picture of the tombstone as a reference for how I mounted it.

Items were as described. They were a snap to put in. Much simpler than I expected. I installed the sockets when I switched to LED fluorescents. The wires that come attached are sufficient, but they are really small compared to the original fixture’s wiring (ample for LED current). Also, the contacts which hold the bulbs are also thin, but functional.

Good new bulb holder receptacles, nice quality and was helpful they came with some leads already installed. Made for very nice repair and restoration of older fixtures to accommodate both ballasts and newer led setups.

Good lamp holders for a reasonable cost. Product would be better if there was a designed access to release the wire for repositioning or changing wire color.

The package from Amazon was well packaged and the contents, the tombstones, were all prewired with the 10" wires and non shunted as advertised, and were all in perfect condition. I used them to rewire a fluorescent fixture to install LED T8 Tubes when I found that some of the original tombstones were cracked and presented an electrical hazard. When I was done and installed the LED lamps, the new tombstones worked perfectly. I'll be checking and inspecting some of the other fluorescent fixtures to see I find other tombstones that may have become faulty over the years, since I have the JackyLED tombstones to fix them with.

Overall these sockets are very good. I would have given them a 5 star rating except that the leads are a bit short. When rewiring a 4 tube fixture the leads were barely long enough to go through the hole provided in the socket housing. Another 5 or 6 inches on both the black and white leads would have been very helpful. I would gladly pay a bit extra for the additional length of lead. Very short sighted on the manufacturer’s part.
