A family member asked me advice on humidity and the best monitor to display this in their home. Research suggested the ThermoPro range were very popular and importantly accurate. Just a basic hygrometer was needed showing the humidity and temperature, this model fits that bill. Inside the box is the hygrometer, battery and instruction booklet. The hygrometer is nice and small however the font of the information on the display is bigger than some on larger displays so for people who maybe have issues reading this is ideal. The font is clear to read. There is a stand on the back of the unit and you can switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit being displayed on screen. If the humidity is in the normal range a small face on screen will display this as added info. When I set it up I compared it to two other hygrometers I have and it was close to one but a small difference to the other. The other monitor is a cheap, basic model so the ThermoPro appears accurate as expected. So overall this is a great little hygrometer with excellent functionality at a very good price.

Good little device to use in the garage to have a rough idea of the temperature in there over winter for when using the tumble dryer. Couldn’t say how accurate it is but seems to go about right for a garage compared to outside temp. Cheap and easy to view/understand

Works well. Shame it doesn’t have the Bluetooth connection that it used to have. There’s no connection to the apps with this device. Real shame. Otherwise it’s a good little thing. Clear display that shows humility and temperature along with a happy or sad face to show moisture levels if good or bad.

I purchased two of these TP49 thermometers 2 years ago. They are still going strong with the same 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries ("LONLIFE" brand) that came with them in the box. Just measured the 2 year old used batteries and they are at 1.4V. Fresh unused batteries of this type are at 1.65V (I know this because I just purchased two TP50 thermometers a few days ago and they came with the exact same batteries. Most AA and AAA alkaline batteries start with 1.65V and die at 0.9-1.0V.) I tested the thermometer with different voltage levels (provided by a programmable DC power supply). It seems to be able to operate between 1.0V and 1.65V but the lower the voltage the lower the contrast of the LCD screen becomes. At 1.4V the drop in contrast isn't significant so using the same AAA alkaline battery for two years (like I did) isn't an issue. At 1.3V there is a noticeable drop in contrast: the segments are semi-transparent/grey instead of sharp black. At 1.1V the LCD screen is barely readable. For the above reasons using 1.2V or 1.25V rechargeable AAA batteries might not be a good idea. Viewing angles: the LCD is sharpest when viewed from top/left/right, a bit less sharp from the front and significantly less sharp from bottom. Very typical design in case of segmented LCD displays. If I leave my two TP49 and two TP50 thermometers on my desk to let them stabilise then their temperature measurements are very close. The difference between the lowest and highest reading is at most 0.2C (but sometimes all of them show the exact same readings) and they seem to agree with my mercury thermometer too. The difference between the lowest and highest humidity measurements can be up to 7-8%. Three of the thermometers are very close to each other (within a 3% range) but one of the TP50 units provides a noticeably higher value when the humidity is above 50-60%. At lower humidity (30-40%) the spread between the measurements isn't as high. Most of these seem to satisfy the claimed specs (±1C and ±2-3%RH) except the humidity readings on one of my TP50 units. (However, in case of humidity most people don't need very accurate readings.) This isn't military-grade precision but I don't expect much better from an inexpensive consumer-oriented device. The downside to this is that you may get a dud if you buy only one unit. Comparing the TP49 (this model) to the TP50: the most obvious difference is that the TP50 is a bit larger (both the display and the frame around it which includes thickness of the device: 2.0cm VS 1.5cm) and it remembers the lowest and highest readings since the last reset. In terms of design there are pros and cons on both the TP49 and the TP50 side: The reflective LCD background of the TP50 is lighter which seems to result in a bit better contrast. However, I prefer the LCD of the TP49. My problem with the TP50 is that with a full battery (1.5V or higher) the inactive LCD segments become too visible when I look at the display at an angle (45+ degrees from the left/top/right). I prefer the display layout of the TP49: it shows the temperature at the top of the screen. The TP50 shows the humidity at the top (with a bit larger/taller numbers than what it uses for the temperature value and I find that a bit annoying). The design of the battery cover of the TP49 is inferior. Opening the battery compartment requires only a minimal amount of pressure on the central snap-fit joint that is easy to apply accidentally by simply picking up the thermometer. Without touching that area the lid seems to be secure enough. The TP50 changed and improved the design of the battery compartment significantly. Unlike the TP50 the TP49 can be attached to the head of a screw or nail. The magnet in the TP49 is smaller and shiny, it is located at the centre instead of the top. Attaching it to a flat surface with screw/nail or magnet obstructs the holes on its backside and that might affect it readings or the speed at which it follows changes to temperature/humidity. The TP50 has a larger dark ferrite magnet at the top: even after attaching it to a flat surface there is a 1mm gap for the ventilation holes on the backside. Both the TP49 and TP50 have a 10 second refresh rate. This seems to be a reasonably good balance between battery life and response time. Their power consumption patterns seem to be very similar: both models spend about 7 seconds in idle and 3 seconds with reading the sensors and updating the info on the screen (during a full 10 second refresh cycle). Based on my measurements the TP50 seems to consume a bit more.

I have been using this digital thermometer since i gave birth and it have been absolutely reliable. It gives quick accurate readings every time, which gives me peace of mind when checking my baby's temperature. Its easy to use, gentle and comfortable even for a newborn, i also love that the display is clear and the battery can always be changed when down

I just needed something cheap to keep an eye on humidity and temperature, this does the job

I was recently rushed to hospital because I had a blazing fever that would have killed me. I was FREEZING even though the ambient temperature in the room was really high. If I'd had this, I would have been rushed to hospital sooner. This little beauty just might save your life one day. If you are freezing, but it tells you the temperature is something like 25°C, call emergency services immediately!!! This handy little digital temperature gauge also tells you the humidity in the room. It had a stand so it can stand on its own... it has a little hole, so it can be wall-mounted... and it has a magnet on its back, so you could stick it to your 'fridge door or something. Buy this...it could save your life one day.

Temperature seems to be ok but the Hygrometer is about 10% out which is a big letdown.

Ho acquistato questo rilevatore per tenere sotto controllo la temperatura e l'umidità in casa e sono super soddisfatto/a. Cosa mi è piaciuto: Lo schermo è chiarissimo e si legge benissimo anche da lontano. È molto reattivo: basta spostarlo da una stanza all'altra per vedere subito i valori aggiornarsi. Design: Piccolo, discreto e dal design minimal, si adatta perfettamente a qualsiasi mensola o comodino senza ingombrare. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, mi sta aiutando tantissimo a capire quando è il momento di accendere il deumidificatore o aerare le stanze. Consigliatissimo

Now I can control the humidity in the house, so we don't have so much static electricity in winter. Good value for money.

Ich habe das ThermoPro Thermometer gekauft, um die Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit in meiner Wohnung besser im Blick zu haben, und bin bisher sehr zufrieden. Das Display ist trotz der kompakten Größe gut lesbar und zeigt alle wichtigen Werte übersichtlich an. Besonders praktisch finde ich die kleine Komfortanzeige, mit der man sofort sieht, ob das Raumklima angenehm ist. Die Messwerte wirken zuverlässig und reagieren recht schnell auf Veränderungen. Das Gerät war sofort einsatzbereit und ließ sich problemlos aufstellen. Für den Preis bekommt man ein einfaches, aber sehr nützliches Thermometer, das genau das macht, was es soll. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.
