Deflecto Dryer Lint Trap Kit for Indoor Dryer Venting with 4"x5' Flex Duct

This indoor lint trap is great for catching lint. It was easy to install, with no leakage, good construction, and it does not get in the way.

I dont know why I thought this was some kind of filter contraption to lessen some of the heat. Its just a diverter that catches condensation. The room you have it in will still get warm. This will be great in the winter. lol. To be honest, you can MAKE this. Get a plastic shoebox from dollar tree and drill holes in the top as a vent, along with a hole for the duct tube. Thats pretty much it. This is very cheap, flimsy plastic, so honestly, a plastic shoebox from the dollar store is the same quality. I should have returned this and just did that. I didnt have a duct tho. If you have a duct, just make this!

Very simple but does the job.

Minuses: it was shipped in the display box. A thin single walled non-corrugated cardboard box. The product was intact but the box looked like it had seen everything except water and it collapsed when I took the product out. The included hose is the least it can be and still qualify to be a hose. It's aluminum foil wrapped around a spring, with the foil being perhaps twice as thick as kitchen foil. The box itself is similarly constructed, pretty thin and the tabs that the lid uses to latch onto to hold it in place are likely to come off. You are supposed to put some water in this to catch the lint and you have to open it up to remove the lint so those tabs will see some action. Plus: The design is rather ingenious and there is an included deflector to make sure the incoming air hits the water. The reusable wire ties supplied to fasten the hose onto the box and dryer are high quality nylon. If the rest of the items had been of like quality it would have received 5 stars. I have to remember that it was $20. I have only tested it a little and it seems to work. If it breaks I will 3D print my own, it will be more durable.

The box was very flimsy and did look like it had been stored and thru hell. Another review mentioned this as well. The top does not attach because the tabs are so flimsy and a bit off the mark to line up with the bottom. The hose that came with it looks like it was made out of the cheapest aluminum foil on the market. With that being said I was hoping it would still work. And no...it doesn't come with clamps or screws to attached it to a wall. So to get the the real issue. After installation my dryer shut off after 20 minutes and threw a code and would not function. After a bit of research I discovered that what had happened was a sensor detected too much condensation at the dryer vent and shut itself off. It's a built in safety mechanism. I had to unplug the dryer and let the sensor dry out. After that the dryer resumed normal function. I am returning it but here's the problem with that. It's almost impossible to get it back in the original shipping box. If you are contemplating purchase this do a little research on this venting practice before you do so. With that being said....this really isn't worth the money and if you REALLY want to try something like this you could do it yourself.

Loved the product. The water bin is flimsy but does the job. Why vent the heat outside from the dryer when you could recycle it. When this lint trap vent is being used, it humidifies the dry air inside the house. Great for winter use- would not recommend that you use it in the summer as your A/C unit will have to work harder to get rid of the extra moisture in the air.

Arrived on time. Product was good but needed duct tape to seal the dryer outlet onto the box. It works well though to catch the fluff and some of the moisture
