Lightweight, Softening, and Actually Worth the Hype
I’m extremely picky about leave-in conditioners because my hair gets weighed down easily, but this mist has honestly become one of my favorite hair products in my routine. It gives my hair softness, shine, and hydration without that heavy coated feeling that so many leave-ins leave behind. The spray itself is a very fine mist, so it distributes evenly and doesn’t leave random greasy spots. I use it on towel-dried hair after washing, and it makes detangling so much easier. My hair feels noticeably smoother afterward, and I’ve also seen less frizz and better overall manageability when I heat style. What impressed me most is how lightweight it feels while still being effective. My hair stays soft and touchable instead of stiff or product-heavy, even the next day. I also appreciate that it doesn’t create buildup or make my roots look oily faster. The scent is fresh, clean, and slightly floral without lingering too heavily once the hair dries. It gives the whole experience a more salon-quality feel. A little goes a long way too, so although the price is definitely premium, the bottle should last quite a while. If you have fine, easily weighed-down hair but still need hydration and protection, this strikes a really nice balance. It feels like one of those products that quietly makes your hair look healthier and more polished over time.

Nice Smell and Lightweight Leave in Conditioner
I really like the Davines DEDE/Leave-In Hair Mist Conditioner. The directions are simple and straightforward: spray 10–15 spritzes onto towel-dried hair, which makes it very easy to incorporate into my routine. I love the smell, which is very light, fresh, and herbal. The mist also feels incredibly lightweight on my hair and doesn't leave it feeling sticky or crunchy like some other hair sprays and leave-in products can. My hair seems to have a little less frizz since I've started using it, so maybe it is effective in that regard? Or maybe I'm just being delusional and hopeful, haha, but even if it is helping, the difference isn't anything life-changing compared to how my hair normally looks. I'm hoping that with continued use, it will help keep my hair more hydrated, stays soft, and manageable throughout the day. I also haven't been able to speak to its heat-protection benefits since I've been letting my hair air-dry so far. For now, though, I'm happy with the product. It smells great, doesn't weigh my hair down, and seems to provide some additional hydration and frizz control. Overall, I think it's a good leave-in conditioner and one I'll continue using.

Leave in conditioner mist - lightweight, clean and fresh
I use this to detangle after taking a shower/shampooing my long hair, a little over half of which was bleached before so I try to be careful with it. This spray goes on in a fine mist that you want to spray a fair distance from your head so it evenly distributes. It's not at all oily like some others. The scent is mild and uplifting. It does not smell like coconut or vanilla, which are two scents I don't like, so I'm very happy with the scent! It says it smells like white hibiscus and I would say yes, it smells floral. After spraying on wet hair, I comb it out, then blow dry, then sometimes use a straightener for a few passes. This spray performed well in protecting my hair and leaving it soft and flexible (not stiff), and there is a mild added shine to it. This really is a lightweight leave in conditioner. It can also be used to smooth your hair down. I usually wash my hair every other day and some leave in conditioners or other products make my hair look dirty the second day, but I am happy to report that my hair does look clean and normal the second day, so I would recommend this if you have similar habits. The brand, Davines, supports regenerative agriculture which is something I care about. The bottle is #2 plastic, so easily recyclable. Yes, there is a high price on this mist, but the bottle is pretty large and has a lot in it, and is a good product.

Eh…
I really wanted to like this because the idea of a lightweight hydrating leave in sounded perfect, but it just did not work for my hair at all. The biggest issue for me is the scent. It’s very strong and honestly smells unpleasant. The best way I can describe it is like old soap that’s been sitting damp somewhere and started getting a mildew kind of smell. Unfortunately the fragrance lingers too, so it’s hard to ignore once it’s in the hair. Performance wise, I also wasn’t impressed. My hair is very dry and usually responds well to leave in products, but this didn’t feel hydrating whatsoever. Even after using a decent amount, my hair still felt like it needed moisture. The mist itself sprays fine and the product is lightweight, but in my case it almost felt too lightweight to actually do much. If your hair gets weighed down easily you may have a different experience, but for dry hair that really needs moisture and softness, this just didn’t deliver for me.

Strong Scent, but Good Product
This leave-in conditioner worked well for me, although I found the scent to be a little much. It is quite pricey, although it seemed to be effective in softening my hair. I feel this would be good for controlling frizzy hair, and maybe even offer a bit of heat protection.

Perfect for those that shampoo and style frequently
This is part of the Davines Essential line that has been reformulated. I’ve been using Davines products for over 10 years and feel their products are high quality, extremely well researched, and they are committed to using more sustainable practices is important to me, and actually make a difference in how I buy products (ie, it’s not greenwashing). The DEDE Leave-in mist is listed as a lightweight conditioner, and it is…but here’s what you need to know in practical use. This is more of a styling product that a replacement for an in shower conditioner. It’s fantastic for de-tangling, a wonderful heat protectant. I don’t find it to be too heavy, weigh my hair down, or make my hair feel greasy. My hair is long and I spray about 10 times, varying top, sides, back, and importantly underneath. It’s important to know this spray includes polyquats which only matters because you’re going to want to spray with a towel around your shoulders, or a robe on before you’re dressed. If you’ve ever done laundry and had mystery spots on your shoulders it’s most likely polyquats from hair products. The spray has what seems a stronger fragrance. By the time I styled my hair the scent was extremely faint, my family couldn’t tell at all. Your mileage may vary, but I would wait to judge the fragrance until you’ve styled/dried your hair. I have naturally wavy, unprocessed, hair, that I often blow dry. This spay gave me a really nice sheen with medium volume. I recommend for those that have normal hair and heat style and shampoo 3-4 times per week.

Leaves Hair Soft and smooth!
This Davine's DEDE/Leave-in Hair mist sprays in a lovely fine mist that really does well to distribute evenly. It's not at all oily at all. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t weigh my hair down, which is important because I have curly thin, fine hair. A lot of leave-in products pull my curls down, but this one doesn’t at all. The scent is fresh and uplifting.. somewhat floral, but definitely bright and uplifting. After spraying on wet hair, I finger-comb it through and add my normal styling product to diffuse. I only diffuse briefly, but it is definitely protecting my hair and leaving it soft and shiny. This really is a lightweight leave-in conditioner. It can also be used to smooth your hair down. I have another review from our 30-year-old daughter who gave it a try. She said, " I used the leave-in conditioner, and it left my hair so soft and smooth! " Now, that's a lot coming from her! Great product!
