English Grammar: Understanding the Basics 1st Edition

This book is excellent to learn basic English grammar, whether you are native speaker or not there's so much to learn. As a TESOL major I strongly recommend this book to enhance your understanding on the subject , you can self teach yourself if you have the with motivation. this book was used in a online college course I took.

I was not disappointed at all when I received my copy of English Grammar.It was as if it was brand new.It was even packaged nicely.I was extremely pleased with the service I got.Thank you again.

The book itself is ok but buyer beware! For some stupid reason the publisher refuses to give out the answer key to the exercises even to students in a teaching program. Apparently some teachers utilize this book as exams for their students and they’re afraid that students will get their hands on them? My guess is that this is highly unlikely and improbable. Almost laughable really. I don’t think the answer key for this book merits this level of security. The book states that answers to the More Practice section are on their web site. They are not. They refused to send them even after sending proof of enrollment in a teaching program. Really annoying to get half way thru the book and not be able to get the answer key. It’s like a newspaper refusing to publish the solution to yesterday’s crossword puzzle! I bought this book to do a complete review on my own before I become a teacher. It’s almost like they don’t want you to learn grammar from this book???

Had to get for class. Never used it. It's pointless. Very little explanation of terms and concepts paired with a few practice questions. I got an A in the class by googling instead.

I never thought that there was any simple way to understand English grammar. I found math and science easier to understand because there was a logical foundation and once the principles were learned one could build on them. This book provides such a logical basis for understanding English grammar.

I'm terrible at understanding grammar, and this book helped me so much!!! The authors break down grammar into easy to understand sections with exercises that finally helped me to start understanding this stuff!!! I recommend this book for anyone like me who has no idea what any of your elementary school teachers were trying to teach you.

Bomb brands was not helpful within the return process and the book that they gave me was extremely messed up. It wasn’t even worth it to return the book because they only gave me a very small refund. I would not recommend this brand to anyone

I have about 250 grammar books, and have gone through most of them. This book the best grammar for beginning ESL students. I teach this to freshman class at Southeast University in Bangladesh
