Daylight UN1161 Naturalight StarMag LED Flexilens with Base and Clip, Black/Silver

On my quest to find the perfect combination of a lighted magnifier for needlepoint I have finally found it. It works well whether I use it with my needlework stand or just clamp to my stretcher bars for stitching away from my stand. It is not too heavy. The arm is not very long so if you are working on a big canvas it may not work for you. I like that it is powered by AA batteries and not a watch battery like some other lights. The light that it provides is perfect and not so bright it is distracting to others in the room (or next to you in an airplane). Light travels well.

Don't know how I did without it for needlepoint.

I bought this to travel with and clip to needlepoint projects on wooden frames. For my smaller works, frames up to ~12" square, it is heavy. It needs to be propped to make it easier to hold. It will be good for larger projects. The light and magnifier are great and make work on 18 count canvas possible!

I needed a magnifier for my botanical art/illustration work. This type of work is very detailed and time consuming, so I needed decent magnification power (to be able to see all the tiny details of plants), its needs to be posed in one area for a while, allowing me to have my hands free to paint/draw.After purchasing/trying 7 different magnifiers across various brands, price points, materials, these are the best I found. Now, I own 2 of these, plus a longer neck model. I do take care to keep the lens protected as its acrylic (not glass) and scratches easily if handled roughly.Lesson learned: Magnifiers with glass lenses tend to be very heavy and the articulating stem/arm (?) has to be rather stiff to hold up the weight, which then makes it unwieldy and not easy to manipulate. Better quality acrylic lens, like the one this item has, beats hands-down, a poor quality glass lens.

I have a plug in light at home that is stronger, but this is a great option for embroidery when I'm traveling.

to be honest, I've gone through 2 others over the last 10-or so years. Love it. Got a new one because I wore the last one out. Good price and clip is big enough to go over my "q-frames" (plastic tubing frame) Most lighted magnifiers are to small to clip on, this one is wonderful.

Needs longer arm. The neck is too wobbly. The clip isn’t strong enough. Otherwise good.

The light and magnifying parts themselves work great. But I tried to connect to this to a hand-held embroidery hoop and it just falls forward and it is too heavy to stay put. It will work fine if working from a table, but not if you want to hold your embroidery hoop and working with your hands. I'm disappointed after paying almost $30 for it. It will be no use to me now and I've had it too long now to return - I just got around to working on my project. Oh well, live and learn. I don't recommend it for hand-held projects unless the light itself stays on a flat surface/table.

I purchased this lamp through a recommendation of a fellow stitcher and it's fabulous. I use scroll frames on a floor stand for my cross-stitch and other work and it clamps onto the scroll frames, giving both excellent light and great magnification. I only wish I had had this lamp ages ago.

Great product at an unbeatable price. Does exactly what I need. Cannot fault the supplier as it was delivered within the time frame specified.
