Fantastic Product!
I'm about 2 years into being an Aquarist and received a 30 gal tank and supplies from a neighbor who hadn't used it in many years. It had one of those traditional black plastic hoods with bulged section for the fluorescent tube light. It was fine, I was just starting out and it didn't cost me much to start the hobby. I enjoyed it except the one annoyance of not being able to use a timer with a fluorescent light. So having to turn on/off all the time and sometimes being out my fish spent some time in the dark until I came home to put the light on. So my search began recently after seeing so may nice online pictures of pristine aquariums beautifully lit. I first searched for complete LED hood sets to replace what I had, but all seemed cheap with mixed reviews. Then started seeing these light bars for tanks and wondered how those work with hoods. Then progressed my search onto glass tops that fold and this light bar sit over one section. Not bad I thought. Ordered this light and glass top only to find the glass top is like a 1/16th too wide to sit inside the tank opening on the ledge. Damn! Then remembered my old tank hood actually separates from the Fluorescent light part and reveals a glass window. Well this light bar fits right over that perfectly and rests on the edge of tank with it's extendable support bars. WHAT A MAJOR TRANSFORMATION!!! It's like a new aquarium and I am newly enjoying the aquarium. Get rid of your fluorescents if you still have them! Wonderful brightness with blue mood settings, mix of white/blue, just white and dimmable as it says. So nice. So what about my timer dilemma? It has a 8, 10 and 12hr setting. So I set it one day expecting it to go off on its own. It does. But viola! It also comes back on again at the same time next day you turn it on prior day! So a complete timer all by itself now comes on at 11am and goes off by itself at 11pm, with no other plug-in timer needed. Want more?? Well how about this! It is fish friendly for those slow morning risers and nocturnal type fish, cause it comes on dim first then brightens to max on its own. Opposite at night with it going dim to blue for a while before shutting off. TOTALLY AWESOME!! LOVE IT!! and Highly recommend this product. Looks like good quality to me and longevity I can't say at this time. But I am super happy I bought this product!! Well designed and thought out. Has re-energized by aquarist hobby mood!

Failed light x 2
Update to previous review. After responding to the requested technical testing and submitting a video. Full refund was issued. And again, great tank light, my favorite. I just have bad luck with it. I can not recommend this product. Great light when it works, otherwise garbage. Folks, it simple to set up and use, bight lights, dimmed lights, timer and then one day nothing! No power, no reason, same power strip, everything else plugged in and working. But here's the absolute worst part: this seller will send you a 2 page long winded list of demands plus sending them a video to prove its not working. Really?! They think I have nothing better to do than make false claims about a product failing yet again. You insult your customer? This is a difficult seller and an unreliable product. I do not recommend this seller at all.

Aquarium Sun
This light is excellent! The tank we bought came with a LED strip light that connects inside your tank and it lit the tank up sufficiently so we were considering sending this back. That was until we turned it on and WOW this is a great light. Fits perfectly on the 60gal and is customization. You can control the white and blue lights independently so you can achieve "that certain look" you are going for in your tank whether that is bright white or dimmed down to a softer white or even washed out to be more flat which brings out the greens and yellows more and then in the evening I have been adjusting the blue light to create a "sunset" if you will. From your bright white you can slowly kick up the blue and bring down the white by pressing the buttons and eventually go full blue but even further the blue can be dimmed very low almost like a "moonlight". I know most people probably won't go this far for their fish but the option is there. It is great light and says full spectrum so I look forward to seeing how the plants react. I have only had it for a few days as of this review but it is a great light. My only drawback is the light is so long that the thin metal bars that slide in and out that allow the light to stand just above the top are thin and flexible and given the light is so long it bows because of this. It is still above the glass and not touching but maybe want to consider using a sturdier metal housing for the light so it does not bend as easy. Also I would consider getting a remote to control the light remotely. It is not a huge deal walking to the tank to adjust the setting but I think a remote could help make the customization easier for users and more functional in general. The adjuster controls are simply three buttons so you have to play around with it at first to figure out but a remote I feel could really make this light over the top great. Other than that, it is a great light and I am very happy with it.

Excellent light - Super, super bright - Bought in August - blue lights failed Sept 13
Update: Well, the good news is the white lights on this system are still work so my plants will survive, and that's the majority of this lighting system. The bad news is the blue lights failed and now won't turn on at all. I don't know why, but they just won't turn on which is frustrating! I haven't had them that long [two months] so it's really disappointing. I think the multicolor systems do better, but I wanted a brighter light which is why I added this. Hopefully, this is just the ballast they sent me. Either way, that's way too short of a life span. I am using this with two other of Nicrew's LED lights. I have the planted tank ones with the colors. I added this one to brighten up the tank a bit and it really made all the colors pop. I recommend using a mix of their lights. The ones with blue red and white for plants work great but I need some blues. This light has two channels and you can select the brightness of the blue or white light. I put it at max and put it in the middle. I added the ones that were more like 6700's on the opposing sides to add the red lighting. I have a 120 gallon tank and the plants are liking this mix. Also, I get a barely visible shimmer effect with this combination. If you like planted tanks, use this one and one of their NICREW ClassicLED Plus Planted Aquarium Light, Full Spectrum to get this effect. As other posters have noted, this is REALLY bright. It's missing the reds though so I think you have to do a combination. I've got two planted ones and this one. FYI - the dimmers they sell do work on both channels [those are the dial ones for the classic], but I don't see the point of doing that when you can just lower it hitting the buttons. Oh, the mode button is the off switch. I noticed this one has a sort of spring action to put it on the tank. I would recommend this going over a glass top. It's VERY close to the top. I'd say it's slightly shorter than the Nicrew Classic LED light. Value wise, this is fabulous. Very low amounts of heat. I had my mom look at the plants under these lights and she said my burgundy ones finally look nice as these lights brought out their colors [classic] and the blue from this one brought out the blues in my fish.

Very nice light
The first one I bought had a scratch on the top so I returned it without any problems. The second had no problems. It’s very bright and fits my tank better than my previous light. Easy to adjust the different shades of light because of the separate blue and white light controls. The 3 timer options are very convenient and I like the gradual on and off effect that simulates sunrise and sunset. Overall a very good purchase for the price. I would recommend this light to others. *Additional 3.12.24- light stopped working about 3 weeks after warranty expired. Called customer service and they had me try a couple of things. Turns out that it was the controller and not the light. They sent me out a new one at no charge and the light works again as good as new. Very pleased that Nicrew stood behind their product. Very satisfied customer!

Best aquarium light on the planet!
I’m 65 years old and I’ve had an aquarium in my home since I was 9 years old! Up until now I only used fluorescent lightbulbs despite the fact that they were constantly burning out and having to replace them at eight or nine dollars a bulb! I have a 50gallon aquarium and the hood and bulb kept shorting out after 3 or 4 months! I bought them on Amazon and true to form I returned the defective hood and bulb and they sent me a replacement but sure enough this one also shorted out! After researching the issue I decided to go the LED light route and I was STUNNED! This aquarium light is amazing as to the brightness it puts out and the options it provides! Not only that it looks fantastic on top of my aquarium! 100 x times better than my old fluorescent tube hood that I have used for years and years! Who ever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks sure was wrong when it comes to this new LED Aquarium light! It’s quality made through and through and should last me a very long time! It fit my existing tank perfectly! It’s easy to use and operate and there countless light options that make owning an aquarium such a joy! If your like me and have out grown the old fashioned fluorescent tube aquarium light ~ don’t even think about buying another buy this LED light I promise you, you won’t regret it! It was actually $7 cheaper than the fluorescent hood light I was going to buy!!!

I ordered this light, and received a different light, so... this review is pointless
I ordered this light, and received the ClassicLED PLUS 36 light instead. They are similar, but the function I was excited about with this light is absent from the light I received, so that's disappointing. The light I ordered (the one for which this review appears) allows for adjusting the blue and white, the light I received does not have that function. The light I received is fine, and programming it is easy, but I'm not completely satisfied with it, even if I had received what I actually ordered. The settings include the option to have a ramp-up and ramp-down when turning on and off, with the option of having the ramp spread out over either 15 minutes or 30 minutes. I absolutely LOVE watching the dynamic appearance of the sunrise/sunset but it ramps completely over only 10 minutes, regardless of what I choose. It seems like a small thing but to me it's not. I really want to relax in front of the tank with the rise and fall over the 30 minutes that the light is supposed to offer. Now, I don't know if THIS light that I paid for and DID NOT receive has that feature, but overall I'm not happy with the fact that I ordered a product, and received a cheaper product than I anticipated. Not great. If I had ordered the product I received it may have gotten 3 stars, but this gets 1 star because I don't love the light I got and I've lost a few dollars in receiving a cheaper product than what I actually paid for.

Amazing value but no on or off button?
Synopsis: I would buy this again. My plants did very well with this light and my planted tank grew a lot with this light vs some other lights I have used, BUT theirs no power off or on button. I don't know if this is just my unit or if it is hidden somewhere, but I looked EVERYWHERE and messed with all the buttons and there was no way to turn it off or on other than unplugging and replugging the cable. Pros- -Brightness Very Bright for the price and you are certainly getting a lot of value for your dollar -Construction Very sturdy metal construction -Color Temperature You can change up the color temperature. Theirs warm, neutral, cool, and a "purpley" mode for a saltwater aquarium (I don't know the actual term I only do freshwater) Cons- -No off or on button I mean come on. This is just poor planning. If there is an on or off button though, why is it so hidden. If there is I couldn't find it at all and the manual doesn't help at all. Very poorly thought out in this regard -Heat The top gets very hot after having it on for a full cycle of lighting. Explaining the review: I gave this a 3 start because of the lack of a power button/ if there is one it is impossible to find. Final Thoughts: If you're on the edge of getting this, just do it. For the price you cant beat its all-metal construction and amazing light output. Amazing value. I would recommend this product. Note: I'm trying to be a very active and helpful reviewer, so any constructive criticism in the comments of this review on how I can better review a product is extremely helpful.

Works well and looks good! Almost perfect.
I love it, very bright and high quality for the money. 2 of the 18-24inch sets fit perfectly on my 55 gallon aquarium. Very aesthetically pleasing and I like that it’s flat, not curved like some lights out there. It has pretty bright white and blue lights with lots of settings, all work well. One thing I would want to change is, it doesn’t have an actual on/off switch, it just has different setting so I need to actually unplug it if I want it off. So far so good though. I just keep it on the lowest blue setting at night. Brackets were a bit difficult to put into the lights but it worked out well. Overall I give it a 4.5 out of 5. Very high quality but not completely perfect... in my opinion. Definitely worth the money and I would by from this brand again!

Nice light.
I’m a little torn on writing this review. This is my 3rd Nicrew light I have purchased. The first was the 18”-24” fresh water light. I loved it is beautiful and bright. Then I needed to replace a tube light in my crescent aquarium and the light was really disappointing and dim. I bought a 36” for my saltwater tank and it’s okay, but the 18” definitely out performs it on the brightness of the blue lights… a little disappointed with the main purpose was the blue light for my corals. So an okay product but I wish all of their lights performed as well as the 18”.

Much cheaper and same quality!
I was looking for a 48inch light for my 75 gallon tank, the local aquarium store wanted $179 for the light. Found this one on Amazon for $89 and I’m not disappointed at all. You can switch between both blue and white or have both on together. They both have 5 different brightness settings. It has a timer function and will shut off if needed by pushing the M button for three seconds (I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying it doesn’t turn off). Definitely take the time to read the manual. I’m glad I decided to take a chance and spend half the price for the same quality light. If you get this, you won’t be disappointed!

Awesome aquarium light
Love this light. I have 3 aquariums. Two are glofish brand with lights. I always thought the glofish lights were bright but I ordered this one for my 80 gallon aquarium and wow.... it puts my glofish lights to shame. This one is so bright and really makes my aquarium look clear. I love that you can adjust the brightness of the lights. The only downside of it is that the moonlight mode cannot work with a timer.

Good light, crappy timer
To set the time you want you have to be sitting beside it to turn it on initially at that specific time. So it would be nice if there was a better way to control off/ on with the built in feature and not have to use a separate timer. The rest of the light is well built and is exactly as described. Would gladly purchase again for just the light. Could do without the built in timer.
