Are these the same ones that were available when I was a kid 50 years ago?

Did anyone find these difficult to pop together? Does it get easier the more kids use them (i.e. Do the beads start to "loosen"?)

Yes, I’ve found that they do loosen. My four year old had a difficult time with a few of them in the beginning but rarely asks for help now after we’ve had it for a month. She plays with them daily.

My 6 year old has small hands and needs to build strength. These beads look like a fun way to do that. Opinions?

Yes! My son sees an OT for sensory issues and fine motor skills and the OT uses these for building hand strength in their sessions.
