SOUND EQUINE The Power Pick

I picked this up because my uncle had had one and I liked it. I've been using it for a while on a 1year old and a baby.It is very sturdy, the end is slightly rounded so it doesn't stab or cut if a horse moves their foot when you come in to pick it. There are certain angles, like pulling toward you where it does exceptionally well and let you get into all the cracks and crevasses.It seems to be made solidly out of machined steal. The "pick" goes all the way through the body and is held in place by what appears to be a roll pin. I don't think there is a risk of shearing that small pin as you'll rarely if ever be putting force on it in that direction.It's occasionally awkward. There are areas that hold lots of debris, mainly on either side of the frog and close to the heels. The angle I have to turn it at to get to these areas is easily achievable, but isn't as ergonomic. I feel like I have to turn my hand and wrist funny to get to them, where it's more natural with the normal pick shape. It's possible that it's just a matter of getting used to it. I don't have any other complaints about this pick and believe it'll last for years.

Really lets you get into the horse's hoof deep and take all the crap out in one pull sometimes. Great product thoughBE CAREFUL OF SHOES.If your hand slips off and your horse has shoes, you might hurt yourself

Works much better than traditional. It is heavier and designed better and that helps pick the hives easier.
