The regular needle is great with dk and Aran yarns and may take chunky - I would try it out first as thicknesses vary. The fine needle is good for 3 or 4 ply + embroidery thread. I find that dk doesn’t flow, so the loops come undone. I think 9 is a good loop size to start with. **Q: Can I use 2 ply yarn for both needles, or is it just the fine one?** A: Yes you can use 2ply in both needles. You can use any wool, so long as it pulls through needle and is not too tight you can use it.
