I liked the vest when I received it, but it was a bit too box-y for me and I was glad to see that the brown, faux-snakeskin fabric would be easy to dye black, being a soft fabric (easier absorbency). I had ordered this knowing that I was going to alter it and had prepared for either spending more money taking it to a tailor who can alter leather (fine since the vest was a great price), or spend hours on it myself if i felt creatively-driven enough (it could happen!). After a twice over I thought it would be easy enough to do myself. And it was! I included a picture illustrating what I did. Now it's a custom made vest which hugs me like glove and overall look now leans more toward a higher end leather piece. Very happy with turnout.[Tip: Steam the vest for any wrinkles or for stagnant packaging odor which leather may have absorbed. These issues will then vanish.]

I bought this vest to complete a cowboy costume for my husband. I took a chance on the size because there weren't any relevant size charts available. I bought the Medium. My husband is 6' tall and 185 lbs. The vest a bit shorter than expected, sitting just above his waistline. There's also no way that he can button it up, but we weren't planning on it anyway. The brown is a bit darker than what it looks like in the picture online. However, it's very nice quality for the price, especially considering the tag says it retails for $79.99! Overall, we're happy for our costume purposes, but if he really wanted to wear it, we should have purchased a Large.

I bought this for my two young grandsons for Christmas and was very pleased. You could smell the leather when I opened the package, and the snake skin detail and the side pockets make it look very cool. My oldest grandson is very tall for his age at 9 years old and the medium that was available does not swamp him. The 7 year old is also tall for his age and I was worried about buying a medium (the smallest size available at the time), but the vest was so cool and apparently sturdy that I bought a matching one for him, too. It is large on him, but he doesn't care! He wears it all the time and I figure both boys will get years of cowboy dress up wear out of this purchase.

This is perfect for a costume but hubby said its too nice and will wear it for when he wants to look nice

I bought this for my husband to use for his Crocodile Dundee costume and it looks great! This vest had a tag on it when I received it that said it was $79 and I laughed because this material is cheap and I'm glad I paid only $30 for it! It is for "small" men and when my husband put it on he couldnt button it closed which was no big deal since Dundee keeps "his open".

You might want to air it out a while before wearing it. Mine had a pretty strong chemical smell. All things considered it's a good deal.

Wow, what a cool gift for my 10 year old son. Goes great with his kangaroo skin hat too. Fit him great too.
