PentelEnerGel Alloy RT Retractable Liquid Gel Pen, (0.7mm), Violet Barrel, Violet Ink, 1 Pack (BL407VBPV)

I bought one of these at a store about a year or two ago and I absolutely loved it but I dropped it one day and broke off the top so I had to buy a new one. This one is just way more metallic sounding when it clicks and something just feels off about it and looking at it next to my other Pen and it has minor differences. For example, the font size is bigger on my original, and the part that goes on your shirt is more flush to the body. I don’t know if this is a knock off because it still writes beautifully, but if you’re looking for consistency in the build quality you might want to look elsewhere. I’ll probably go to the store and look for it to see if it’s just a knock off or not.

This pen is better then expected. My spouse and I appreciate decent quality pens. When I saw this pen, its appearance drew me in, it looks like a more expensive pen. I made the purchased for two of them, I also purchased a small metal presentation case and gifted one to my better half. It's inexpensive so who cares if she looses it or if it stops working. It's slightly bigger and more substantial then any of my other pens, I didn't see that coming, but for its size and appearance it's not that much heavier. I compared it to other pens that i use frequently and it's pretty robust looking, but we still like it. We haven't had any issues with the cap as others have pointed out and it writes pretty smooth, no issues there, were pleased with it, as of right now it's my go to pen. I haven't dropped it yet, so i dont know how much abuse it can actually take that's why i only gave it four stars, it feels comfortable in the hand and I've gotten compliments on it. Go figure, I have a brass TI pen that's overlooked but this inexpensive pen gets admired by most. I made this purchase with my own funds. It was not provided by the vender nor did I receive a discount on it in favor of my review. If anything changes i will provide an update. This is my honest review, hope it helps.

I have a large collection of Pentel EnerGel pens ranging from plastic, special edition, metal barrel, various tip sizes (0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0), and prob 25-30 ink colors. I love to use Pentel EnerGel pens for writing, note taking, and in the rare instances, to write a check. What you'll get from this specific pen in black ink with 0.7 tip, and full metal barrel/clicker. The only two downsides I can think of are 1) the barrel is slightly larger than regular EnerGel pens, and other pens in general. It's a very slight, but it does have a larger barrel; and 2) there is no soft cushion grip. While the pen does appear to have some stripes around the pen grip, it's still metal. So if you have a "death grip" on your pens, this may not be the pen for you. You could put a silicone or rubber grip on the barrel, but it will become very thick, since the barrel is already oversized. Overall, I recommend this pen (or any EnerGel for that matter)!Pros: Pentel EnerGel ink, very smooth, very little smearing, easy to change the ink (commonly found ink cartridge refill), wide assortment of colors and pen tip sizes, solid metal build which could last years/decades/lifetime.Cons: Not much other than the barrel is slightly larger then typical pens, and the barrel does not have a silicone or rubber grip. So may not be the best for heavy grippers (aka, have a "death grip").

Is the smoothness the reason for the price? I feel the price a bit expensive for any kind of pen but I decided to get it anyway. It does write pretty darn smooth just not sure it's worth the money.

These are great pens. This is my 3rd one I purchased. My husband also love them. We both prefer the .07 medium tip. I purchased red refills for one of them to have a good quality red pen for highlighting when I am studying. I certainly would recommend this pen.

Pen writes very smooth and it’s a gel pen

Pen is sturdy, writes fluidly, and so far hasn't smeared. Very good for the price!

I am 34, and this is the only pen I've ever had where I get almost no smudging of my writing and ink on my hand after writing a full page. That alone is worth it's weight in gold to me, but the nice metal casing and replaceable ink make this a total bargain!

I've been using a plastic energel pen for a few years and didn't even know a metal version existed! Thought I'd treat myself and upgrade. Item arrived in good time and we'll packaged. It's a nice solid pen (as is its plastic counterpart) and writes like a dream...10/10

Good looking and highly functional.

This pen is a gift from the gods to us mere mortals. From scrawling in the back of moving vans to breaking through the MRSA forcefield on patient charts, this pen delivers like that one really awesome bike you had in middle school. This ain't your dads pen, or even your grandads pen. In the event of total societal breakdown, I'd armour my car with these things seeing as they are durable enough to survive a nuclear explosion. This pen is also heavy enough to be used on a standard dive belt if you're looking to do some scuba-diving.Unfortunatly my pen transcended the world of mere mortals and sprouted majestic wings, which likely flew into the hands of a nurse or coworker.Watch this pen wisely, as it's lustre finish will turn good men into monsters.

No compren está pluma, la primera pluma que compre se me cayó al bajar del carro y salió volando el botón superior. Pedí otra porque pensé que fue un caso aislado. Pero hoy seme cayó del escritorio la nueva pluma que pedí (tengo 3 días con ella) y salió volando el botón de nueva cuenta. Pésima calidad a pesar de que la escritura es muy buena.
