Slim profile, bright light

Quality light output, good fixture.
I had bought a couple of these for the last house were in. We're finished a new house now and I new where 2 of these were going when we did the electrical rough in. There is a place in the basement that is under the main duct work and it's about 7 1/2 ft high. I would have liked to had a regular recessed light there, but to conserve headroom, we mounted the typical electrical box in the ceiling and used these. I've had some Juno and Halo retrofit samples that go in can lights and the light from this philips light is more directional downward. Some of the others seem like the look of a single bare bulb. Be sure you have a deep box for these. You have to have the wires tucked in good an arranged correctly to get it to snap in place.

These have a bunch of LED's around the perimeter pointing in towards the center and the diffuser does a great job of spreading the light. I had to mount three of these above the bathroom sink and I have cabinets built into the ceiling above the sink with a 2x4 space between the inside bottom of the cabinets and the lower ceiling above the sink. These fit great inside of some round old work JB's and I have them running on a Lutron dimmer.

There are plenty of light options, but if you need a wet-rated LED with a low profile, look no further.
