Sabrent Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt) to HDMI Adapter (DA-DPHS)

I recently purchased a Macbook Air for work and I use a second screen. The Pro has a HDMI but the thinner Air requires an adapter. Having searched for one that was cheapest while having a good review, I ended up with this product.I think you are reading this because you are in the same boat.I bought it and have absolutely no regrets. It works right out of the box and my laptop does the rest to connect it. No problems at all.

Finding the right adapter can be a tricky process. Passive? Active? Matching port? Communication errors? Digital vs. analog? Thunderbolt vs. mini-display? But I am happy to say that this adapter has been nothing but flawless for me. While I love my MacBook Pro, I don't love that Apple doesn't provide an HDMI port for display out on their laptops. That being said, this adapter does the trick. Not only is the cable a good length, but you can tell it's a good quality build. With my current setup (2012 MBP), it does indeed transfer both video and audio. This is definitely a hand adapter for the price!

Wanted to connect my 2015 Imac to a big Samsung flatscreen to watch EyeTV recordings, mostly opera. Bought this, wired it up, but got "no signal" in Source on TV from the HDMI input.Gloom and despair. Discovered, though, by trial and error that the TV end of the HDMI cable needs to be plugged in with the TV OFF, then the TV turned on. Works like a charm, now. I don't know the difference between active and passive cables, but when it started to work, it also "optimized the Mac screen for Samsung",(poor resolution) and I had to go into Displays in Preferences and select Optimize for Mac Screen, which gave me back my beautiful Retina Display picture. That didn't seem to affect the gorgeous picture being mirrored on the TV. Good gadget, and I'd buy it again, but some directions in the packaging might be nice.

This worked fine for 3 1/2 months, then started to go in and out, and required wiggling.At 4 months, it doesn't work at all. Junk.Update: A representative from Sabrent contacted me to let me know it was under warranty, and sent me a replacement. That's good customer service. I've added a star for that, but I had to buy a different brand when this broke, so I'll stick with the other brand for now.

I got unlucky like some of the other reviewers and this adapter did not work at all with my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) and ASUS VH236H monitor. When I plug it in absolutely nothing happens as if it's not even there. The adapter looks and feels cheap; it would not surprise me if this adapter was just a hollow shell.This is the first defective product I purchased through Amazon and I suggest going with another adapter that has many more reviews even if it costs a few dollars more.

First unit did not work out of the box. Called the company and they sent another one immediately. Awesome!! I already have an Apple unit and this is smaller and seems to work just at well. Now I have s second unit to carry around with me, and at a great price!! Cheers!

Bought to connnect my Microsoft Surface 3 to my HD TV for watching movies. Works exactly as I expected it to and no problems so far although I have only had it a few months. Price was good and prime next day delivery so I am very happy with it.
