These were a perfect match to my old corroded caps. They look like they even have the corrosion protection needed for salt water.

Tilt cylinder cap
This cap worked great on my 200 mercury optimax This is the cap for the center cylinder that pushes the tilt rod.Mercury does not make a new cap they just sell the O rings. After changing all the O rings I still had the leak from the cap as was it had been compromised due to corrosion. I ended up getting to this new cap and worked perfectly. I only gave it 4 starts because I haven’t had it long enough to see how it performs over time in saltwater and proper cleaning after each use. Over all the cap looked and felt high quality.

Read description; not tilt/trim, only tilt cap..
Although these shipped quick, it is the wrong part. This cap is for the center, larger tilt cylinder on a Mercury Outboard. It is not for the two smaller trim cylinders on either side, it is too big. Listing should be modified to state such, possibly with dimensions. Motor is a 2006 Mercury 200 Optimax.

**Middle cylinder cap only**
This cap is just like the factory one and at a much more affordable price. Be careful you don’t mistake this with the side rams, those are different sizes. I called the parts dept and they helped me find the right size and part number for my particular unit to avoid confusion and delays, they were very helpful.
