## Overview

Tealyra Gyokuro Kokyu is a 100g loose leaf green tea blend from Kyoto, Japan, combining Ujitawara Gyokuro and Wazuka Kabuse Cha. This shaded tea offers a smooth, umami-rich flavor profile with medium caffeine, crafted for those seeking a premium, balanced, and health-conscious tea experience.

## Description

Product description Enjoy the refined taste of Gyokuro Kokyu, a well-balanced Japanese green tea crafted from two exceptional shaded teas from Kyoto Prefecture: Ujitawara Gyokuro and Wazuka Kabuse Cha. This thoughtful blend brings together the elegance of gyokuro with the fresh character of kabuse cha, creating a smooth, approachable tea with consistent quality and a beautifully rounded flavor. Kabuse cha, also known as “shaded tea,” is grown similarly to gyokuro and shaded before harvest to encourage a richer green leaf colour and a deeper, more savoury taste. Combined with premium gyokuro, it produces a cup that sits between classic sencha and full gyokuro—fresh, mellow, sweet, and rich in umami. Gyokuro Kokyu opens with delicate grassy notes, followed by a smooth umami sweetness and a lingering, satisfying finish. Elegant yet accessible, this Japanese green tea is perfect for tea enthusiasts who enjoy shaded teas with depth, freshness, and balance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious tasting green tea
*by D***A on November 14, 2024*

I really enjoy the taste and aroma. I usually use 3/4 of a teaspoon and leave my tea in about 1 1/2 cups of water. It tastes like high quality Japanese tea with a rich aroma that is not overpowering. It is smooth with a slight floral taste that is barely noticeable.
