I bought this having no knowledge of how to drill pearls. I bought some freshwater, cultured pearls and wanted to make a few pieces of jewelry. I spent a few minutes looking up "how to drill pearls" and "pearl drill". This one kept popping up. I normally buy products with more reviews than this but it was a good price and I decided to go for it. I'm happy I did! I definitely suggest watching the video they give you a QR code to view. But if you're thinking about buying this then I say go for it! I will say when I first plugged it in I thought it didn't work, but that's because you have to turn the on switch pretty far before it kicks the motor on. Otherwise, it's super simple and does a great job.

I love my pearl drill machine! I live in Hawaii and work with a lot of Tahitian pearls for jewelry making. I use this machine to drill different size holes in pearls and shells for bangles, earrings etc. They come out perfect almost every time. 4 stars because I learned that there is a bit of technique required when drilling pearls… #1 rule: use safety goggles. Keep your hair pulled pack if you have long hair. I personally like to use the metal collets instead of the plastic ones because the plastic WILL MELT if it gets too hot while drilling. I usually just dab cool water onto whatever piece I’m drilling (Q tips work great) to keep it cool so it doesn’t crack or chip. I love that this drill has the ability to anchor your piece and flip it 180 degrees so you can drill into each side half way. I used to have a vertical drill press and this is so much easier! I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for something to level up their jewelry making✨✨

I got this to enlarge hole in some of my pearls. I was very leary to use on my expensive pearls but it was so easy to use. Start with the smallest drill bit and graduate to the desired bit. I string my pearls where I double back on the three end pearls so i can use a french wire and my pearls were not strung that way, that is why I needed to make the end holes a bit larger. Because it already had a hole, I put the pearl on the mounted bit to make sure it was going to drill in the same hole. Then I tightened the pearl down and backed off of the bit, testing for proper placement before I actually drilled. I did it right the very first time. I am so happy with this machine! I may start taking in work for others that don’t want to invest in the machine.

I purchased this to use specifically on Tahitian pearls and it doesn't seem strong enough. The drill bits provided only worked on 1 pearl and then became useless, and the machine lacked the power to go through the pearly quickly thus dulling the drill bit faster. Going to try and find better bits and see if it helps.

Got it to turn all those pick a pearls into a medical bracelet. Worked great. Assembly not the easiest but got there eventually.

El producto tiene calidad, yo se que hay mas robustos y con mejores detalles pero son mas caros, yo lo compré para perforar otro tipo de objetos y con el kit de mordazas me ha ayudado, los controles de velocidad son acorde para un motor de corriente alterna si uno quiere que exista mas control debe colocarse uno de corriente directa, quedé satisfecho. No tiene instrucciones de armado pero al ver la imagen uno puede determinar como va lo que se debe de armar.
