Fun build
this thing is well made and it's a relatively easy "puzzle" to do... you just need to have patience; a LOT of patience... you're pressing in small and delicate foam pieces that sometimes, don't quite line up. If you're prone to percussive maintenance resulting from frustration when something doesn't work right away, this set might not be for you... a lot of the pieces need to be gently worked in together and it's very *VERY* easy to put too much force. If you go into OCD mode when building Lego, this is a similar experience, though i have to stress that it takes a LOT more patience on account of the tiny foam pieces being infinitely more delicate than ABS plastic. No... we didn't break any pieces. :) The manual is nice - it starts off with some information about Blackbeard and the ship itself. It would be SUPER awesome if the instructions labeled the different parts and sections of the ship as you built it, but alas... still pretty nice. One negative about the instructions is that the order of assembly isn't exactly labeled, so you need to think things through, before you start assembling. For example: when doing the masts - go one section at a time, put the head (see... had to look up what that part was called) onto the mast first, then attach the sail, then do the rigging, then do the next section. We built the entire mast first, then worked down from the top with the rigging, then did the sails... and tried attaching them assembled. we had to go back and pop out the rigging to get enough working room for the sails. The sails' head is difficult to install when you have the whole sail attached to it and can't get good leverage/control to wiggle it into place. The one complaint i have about the set is the stairs leading up to helm (had to look that word up, too) - we couldn't get the outside part of the stairs to lock into the notch, it seemed like the notches were wider apart than the stair treads. the notch on the outside railing for the stairs also seemed too big for the corresponding notch on the deck I built this with a 10 year old... i'd venture to say that the set is maybe a bit too complicated for that level of dexterity and patience. My child was engaged and did a LOT of the building, but it's not something i feel i could have just left them to build completely unsupervised. There were a few sections (like the masts) that required a bit more finesse.

Fun to put together and surprisingly sturdy
I love building models and have completed many of them. Although, I have never really enjoyed the types that don't require glue to put them together. I have tried wooden ones where the pieces slide together and, while it looked nice, wasn't enough of a challenge for me to enjoy. This puzzle surprised me! It does just slide together, but has many pieces, and becomes very intricate at times. The pieces fit together extremely well which makes the overall ship look beautiful. The instructions were easy to follow. The pieces were easy to remove without worrying about destroying any of them, as long as you were careful. As I put it together the ship turned out to be very sturdy. I didn't have to worry about pieces falling off, or the ship being squashed, which handling it. The end result was a nice sized ship with a lot of detail. The LED lights are a nice addition, and it looks great on the display stand, which you assemble as well. It was challenging enough to keep me interested, and priced extremely well. Keep in mind that even though this model is built without paint or glue, it may be too difficult for young children. I definitely recommend this for any model lover and will certainly keep my eye out for similar products.

Cubic Fun Titanic Model Review
This is a wonderful puzzle for late teens through adulthood. I have Alzheimer’s disease and have completed many of these kits. The puzzle has different phases of completion labeled A-W. I do one phase per day and start a new one the next month.

Fantastic fun! Not perfect, but pretty close.
Not going to lie, I don't do many reviews, so IF I do one, it's because I feel its worth my time. TLDR; great detail, great fit and finish, great design, relatively easy to put together, IT INCLUDES LED LIGHTS and a stand; But, while it's not that challenging, it will require some brainpower on your end because not EVERYTHING is perfect. BUT, this is a wonderful, well thought out, and fun kit to put together. I am about 7/8ths of the way through this build, and I am loving it. Everything is precisely cut; ALMOST everything punches out nicely; everything fits together with relative ease; the design and engineering behind this kit is well thought out, and I found myself many times throughout the process complimenting the kit. That being said, it is not without some, albeit minor, flaws. Some of those flaws could be attributed to my lack of experience and finesse; Others, do notably lie with the kit. The instructions are well noted, pictured, and laid out. They provide a tool to help punch out the parts, and for 80% of them, it is the best option to use; However, you WILL want to have a smaller tool at hand for many of the "punch outs" you'll have to do. You WILL be punching out MANY holes of which most will require a smaller tool than what is provided. Not a big deal, just use a toothpick, coffee stirrer, or a pair of tweezers- you'll find something in your junk drawer that will work. You cant really expect much more for ~$40 or less. Not an issue, really. Most parts in this "puzzle" (I put that in quotes because its not really a "puzzle," in that you are given quite specific instructions on how to put it all together- there's really no "mystery" here about how it all fits together. You will win, I promise. ) fit together quite nicely. For the most part, it all fits nice and tight- in some cases, too tight to the point that you wonder if you're doing it wrong and might break something- and in a few cases, I did, but not badly so. In other cases, I will absolutely recommend that you use some tape where it isn't recommended, or some simple Elmer's glue; otherwise, you WILL lose some pieces due to a loose fit. It really all depend son the kit YOU receive. After all, at it's core, this is nothing more than a series of foam-core parts, stamped and colored to be squeezed together so, use caution when assembling, but its more sturdy than it seems. Nevertheless, this has been a JOY to assemble, so far. I'm not even done yet, but I have already found myself looking for other 3D "puzzles" from this manufacturer to try my hand at. In summary: great detail, great fit and finish, great design, IT INCLUDES LED LIGHTS, a stand, a punch-out tool and well done instructions. But, while it's not that challenging, it will require some brainpower, ingenuity, and in a few instances, bravery on your part. I 100% recommend this kit.

This is not the historical ship of the historical Blackbeard—it is, in fact, the Black Pearl from Disney’s Pirates franchise. And. It. Is. Gorgeous. It’s hard to describe the pleasure I have of walking past her every day at home. It is not nearly as difficult to construct as some people say. There are couple parts that you might want to use a drop of super glue, but otherwise you will find the ship becomes sturdier the further you go with the main structural pieces. Details? Good God, rich with detail. The LED lights, if you follow the instructions and take your time, look fantastic. The interiors of the ship are a deep red color so the LED lights make the light from the stern cabin look warm. The contrast with the deep dark grey and weathered black of the exterior is striking. I have always wanted a nice big model of a pirate ship. I went through so many plastic sets I gave up on because of the time, skill and effort they demand. With this 3D puzzle (I have had it for years and only now am I reviewing it), I have my perfect dark, eerie and majestic pirate ship model. Even if you are a modeler of detailed, fully rigged ships, you’ll still love this ingenious and magnificent puzzle. And in the dark, it casts ghostly shadows over the entire room. And it’s under $50, making it a great gift worth far more than it costs. I only purchased mine at first because it wasn’t ridiculously expensive. Seeing its quality, its worth twice that.

The Queen Annes Revenge
It's incredibly beautiful, definitely for young adults or adults, not for children. It's challenging but absolutely worth the effort. The details are perfect, the size is amazing, and it's truly spectacular, highly recommended!!!

May take longer than expected for a perfectionist
Beautiful puzzle when put together . May take longer than expected to put together if you want the experience of a puzzle to last.( it didn’t happen for me) stayed up late to finish it once I got started. I think the box said it takes about 4 hours to complete well with my big fingers it took about 7.5 hours but it was worth every minute it turned out great

A 3D puzzle version of the Titanic!
Each Christmas I spend considerable time looking for 3D puzzles for my brother in law. This one was unique and appeared to be a good quality and sturdy enough to be put together as a ship. My brother in law sent me a picture after he had put all of the pictures together and it looked like the Titanic! He shared how much he had enjoyed putting the 3D puzzle together and love the quality of the ship itself. It's hard to call it a 'picture' as it is so much more than that! If you are looking for a challenging puzzle I am very happy with this company and the Titanic puzzle. I did not hear anything about difficulty in putting the pieces together other than it was challenging and the picture definitely looked complete.
