This bonded nylon thread is very high quality. It has the right thickness, texture and strength for a great loop and center serving material for traditional bowstrings.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This thread is AMAZINGLY STRONG! I love it. The color is magnificent! I made a CATIO out of some screening material and some nylon border material (like a thin seatbelt material) which was also this fabulous turquoise color. I used this thread to stitch this all together. The screen is 25' long and 4' high. I stitched around both top and bottom and both ends twice with this thread and still didn't hardly make a dent in the spool of thread. I attach the entire assembly to the camper using strong magnets along the hand rail and the vertical frame of the camper. The cats have never even attempted to get out. Color: TURQUOISE is my favorite color! My son was a Marine who was KIA in Afghanistan. He was buried in NM, the land of Turquoise. Yarn quality: Extremely heavy duty! Sews in a machine easily! Thread breakage: I've had ZERO breakage! Quality: Great quality Size: I have a bit too much, but better too much than too little!

This thread is fabulous when you are in need of strength - it really holds up to sewing and tying things up tight - ya just can't break it you gotta cut it - great for projects that need to hold up!

I can't say how well this thread performs in a sewing machine because I did not use it for that purpose. However, I can say that the "Tex 70"-diameter thread is extremely well suited for hand-crafts like bookmaking. It is thick and strong enough that you will sooner tear the paper of the book than snap the thread; the only way I was able to break it by hand at all was to knot it and pull as hard as I could (you won't snap it with your hands by accident either; it almost cut into my fingers before it finally gave). Most important of all, since this thread is bonded instead of merely being two smaller strands twisted together like polyester upholstery thread, it does not unravel nearly as easily, and threading it through the eye of the needle is as simple as regular cotton thread. The size of the spool it is wound on caused comparatively little line memory (the tendency of the thread to curl up on itself as though it were still on the spool), which made it easier to manage backlash and knots while working with long segments. Overall I'm very satisfied with this thread and will be using it exclusively from now on in my stitch binding activities — my only quibble is that there aren't more diverse color options to choose from and some of them aren't accurate (the purple is so dark it's almost black).

Used craft size 92 280D T90 for sewing on marine vinyl fabric. Good quality and had no issues with thread. Used sewing machine needles made for sewing on Vinyl by Schmitz, size 90-14. The nonstick needles reduce vinyl from stickiness and not pull on thread and fabric. Testing thread with machine tension with thickness of layers of fabric before starting project is a must with any thread and will reduce frustration of thread fraying and miss stitches. I used my home sewing machine by Brothers and had no issues with bobbin loading either. Packaging of thread was good, no unraveling. As I said, quality of thread was good with my vinyl upholstery project and will order again for future upholstery projects.
