Color:Black Research has found that we now spend on average 13 hours a day sitting, whether that be at our desks, in our cars or on the couch. The problem with sitting for long periods of time is that you naturally begin to slump in your chair, pushing out the natural curve in your lower back and putting strain on the back muscles. Adopting a correct sitting posture is the simplest solution to reducing these postural stresses and strains. The key is to prevent your lower back from slumping or sagging outwards and this is where the Backboard can help. The Backboard simply slides into the back of your chair, supporting the natural inward curve. As it pushes your pelvis forward, this helps to put the correct curvature in your spine, encouraging you to sit upright in the correct position and improve your seated posture. There are a wide variety of lumbar supports on the market today, in all shapes and sizes. This is because everyone has different requirements depending on the shape of their lumbar curve. This is what makes the Backboard so unique. It can be bent into any position and can be specifically tailored to fit the curvature of your back. By applying light pressure, the Backboard can be bent over the knee to the desired curvature. It's then positioned in the small of your back to provide support to the natural curve of the spine. The Backboard has been developed in conjunction with Harley Street specialists, the London Spine Clinic, a center of excellence for all spinal care. They recommend using the Backboard whenever you are seated to minimize the load on your back and stop prolonged stresses from sitting in a slumped position. The Backboard is also supplied with a seat retainer strap to hold it in place.

Love it, but needs improvement
I love it but only gave it 3 stars because I had to modify the product. This product really provides great support as long as you add a strong piece of tape in the back attached to the top and bottom front keeping the board from returning to a flat position once you apply body weight to it. I found that the clear tape the post office sells is strong enough, but duct tape should work also. The strap that comes with it is too short to go around a recliner, so that’s another area that needed modification. This products newer version, called the Backboard Mini, corrects the bending deficiency by adding two pieces of wide Velcro like material to the back to keep it in position once you bend the product to your preferred support level and apply your body weight to it.

Wow, it actually worked
This board forces you to have good posture and let me tell you it has saved my back at work, or now...home workspace. It's mold-able somewhat but it molded itself to me basically without me doing anything. It truly is helping me avoid back pain with all the sitting hours at work. For the lower back pain folks out there, this device is WORTH IT.

Back backboard
This caused more back pain when using on my car. I wasn’t able to adjust and it was a very stiff hard back super board. Only Used for a couple days and took it out of the car.

Surprisingly effective
This small, straight board is surprisingly effective. The seat of my car was causing me tons of back pain, and nothing seemed to help (even doctor, chiropractor, acupuncture, etc.). Finally realized my car seat causes my back to curve in a C-shape. This back board straightens my back. No more pain!

Waste of money
Wow what a really really rubbish product! A stupid board you're to bend into shape only to find it flattens back in no time so a complete waste of space and a definite design flaw, very expensive piece of plastic not worth buying at all!

It Works
Suffered with pain for 9 months in my lower back on the left hand side which was triggered when sitting down in my car, organomic pc chair and sofa, however I experienced no pain at all using this. If using it on the sofa then I find it best placing it in front of a small cushion. It feels quite hard though I'd trade hardness for pain any time. (Touch wood it don't come back).
