Same great quality as and more functional than older Zoic shorts
Great shorts! I was looking to replace an almost 20-year-old old pair of mountain biking shorts that also happened to be Zoic. I figured they held up great for that long, why not try another pair? Glad I did. Extremely comfortable and seemingly well made. The padded inner lining works great, and all the pockets are well-designed and functional. I packed them on a recent trip to Costa Rica and wore them zip-lining and the pockets came in very handy. And they look great on and off the bike. Medium size fit perfect (6', 155 lb, 31" waist). Great price too, and if these last another 20 years then they'll probably be the last pair of mountain biking shorts I'll ever need! Would definitely recommend.

Great shorts, great brand.
I bought these ZOIC shorts to wear while riding my road bike. I know these are basically for mountain biking but I was looking for a nice, comfortable, loose fitting cycling short and these seemed like a good option. I am a 36 waist and the XXL fit just slightly too large. I have to use the velcro adjuster on the side to make them nice and tight. They fit perfect now. Perfect length. After a couple months of regular use (3 times weekly) the zipper on the right leg pocket became stuck. I pulled on it a bit and the zipper became disconnected so it doesn't close while zipping up and down. It's hard to explain but I am sure if you have used a zipper before you know what I mean. I emailed ZOIC and asked them about it. They replied to my email the same day and told me they would send me a new pair ASAP. 5 days later I had a brand new pair of shorts in the mail. I was pleasantly surprised with their customer support. Great brand, great shorts. I recommend them highly.

Great shorts, 2 issues (including zipper)....but great customer service from Zoic
I love these shorts! I'm new to the MTB scene, but this is my 3rd brand to try and these are my current favorite. This 4-star review is even with, not 1, but 2 problems: 1) After my 1st ride, I noticed my liner had a hole in them. It probably was there out-of-box and i just didn't see it. I knew that since this was the shorts + the liner in a 'bundle', it would complicate the return so I went straight to Zoic. I had already worn the shorts too, and I liked them so much I didn't want to send them back! Zoic handled it perfectly and extremely fast (it was resolved before I even got my auto-reply email from the web form submission!). My new liner arrived 4-5 days later in the mail...without a hole! 2) You'll see a lot of zipper issues in the reviews, and I had a problem too. My back pocket zipper is shot after just a couple of uses - the one you would put your wallet in if you're right-handed. The teeth are very small/fine and It appears they tried to make it almost invisible by stitching the material really close to zipper - maybe the material gets stuck in it, I can't tell. I just know it jammed after 2-3 uses. I tried for 15-20 mins to fix it, but to luck. Since the customer service was so awesome, I thought about sending them back as a warranty issue, but since this might be more of a design issue than a single faulty zipper, my new ones would probably do the same thing....so I'll just go with 'em the way they are. The pocket is deep enough where I feel comfortable with my wallet in it without it being zipped. I've also saw some negative reviews about the front/side zippers. Mine seem to be working fine, and I've used them a lot more (for phone & keys). These have a different zipper style and size, so all good so far. So, 2 problems, still 4 stars. These are the ones I reach for 1st.

Comfortable, well designed
The design is comfortable and practical. No frills, which is good because frills get destroyed on a mountain bike. The interior liner is well padded and very well made. The shorts are excellent with regard to friction. The size was very true to other brands......I normally wear a size small, and Zoic size small was an excellent fit. The price is high, but if these hold up for over 25 years of mountain biking like my last pair of Zoic shorts, then I would say that is an outstanding value.

My husband ordered these after reading all the reviews, and doing quite a bit of research. He has been biking for many years. They fit well, and seem comfortable (he agreed the zippers seem kind of flimsy - but he does not really use pockets so hopefully will be ok) - the thing is, he found them to be exceptionally padded - to the point where he said it felt like wearing a diaper. He couldn't get used to it - has worn many varieties of bike shorts over the years. He thinks he will get used to it - but he was not expecting it to be so thick and substantial. Just something worth mentioning. He would have preferred that it not been so much. He found it bothersome. Not enough to go through the hassle to return, but if there was something comparable that wasn't as padded, he would have picked those instead.

These shorts come as advertised and at this price point with the liner included makes for a great deal. I have worn mine several times now and like them more and more. The are holding up well and are easy to wash. For sizing I usually wear 35-36 so I ordered large and they fit me perfectly and with the adjustable waist there is room to go down a size. I will for sure be buying another pair.

The shorts are meant for biking but they're also comfortable just to wear around without the padded liner. The angled pockets on the legs make them good for paddling as well - easy access when seated. The only thing I don't like about them is that the zipper pull on the lower right leg pocket can scratch surfaces when you sit down, especially if the zipper is open.

Fits well except the padding in liner is to for back , not positioned well for the seat
