Heather's Choice, Dark Chocolate Chili with Grass-Fed Bison, Backcountry Dinner, Wholesome, Allergen-Friendly Dehydrated Food for Backpacking, Camping, Hunting and Travel

What drew me to Heathers choice was that the owner, Heather, was making food that was whole foods based, truly beneficial to the hunter and backpacker, and that it is a local, small NW business that does not seem interested in sacrificing quality to just pump out quantity. I never saw an alternative to Mountain House or Backpackers Pantry that could be delicious, lower in sodium, properly nutritious, and made using whole food ingredients (There is only one preservative, Calcium Chloride, in these foods). You can actually read them on the label! Oh, and the meals are FREAKIN' DELICIOUS! 100% will buy again

Unlike their breakfasts, which are hard to choke back, I find myself eating more than these than I need ... Bar none, this is good chili and easily one of the best backcountry foods I;ve ever eaten, and I have eaten and tried a lot of them!

Tastes great and very easy to travel with! As someone with allergies, it is very hard to find good dehydrated food. This stuff is amazing!

This not only tastes great, but I can actually eat it and its real food. No stupid starch fillers to pad the bottom line. I need to avoid Gluten, Dairy, Corn, and Maltodextrin. By far the best even though it's the price of a $$ restaurant meal. Definitely worth the money because it feels like you're eating at a restaurant and the real food makes you feel great. No digestive after-effects when you want to be your best.

A savory meal that is filling and long lasting. I liked when I hit a small pocket of tomato taste which brightened the flavor. I wish there was more tomato flavor add.

This product tastes great! But with only a one year shelf life I don’t expect to receive 4 month old product, would like to have receive something closer to a year in shelf life. Two stars for shipping old product.....five start for taste.DON’T BUY THIS UNLESS YOU PLAN TO USE SOON!

Five stars for “effort,” and quality ingredients. Minus two stars for taste and prep. At 10,000 feet, 49 minutes yielded cold, crunchy chili. Taste leaves a lot to be desired as well, and I’m not too picky. Not sure Heather has ever eaten good chili.

This tastes terrible, and has the consistency of cardboard soup. I wanted to like it, added a bit more water, and kept trying it. The only joy that was had here was other people seeing my face each time I took a bite.
