******Recently Published!****** Unit Operations of Chemical Engineering, 7th edition continues its lengthy, successful tradition of being one of McGraw-Hill's oldest texts in the Chemical Engineering Series. Since 1956, this text has been the most comprehensive of the introductory, undergraduate, chemical engineering titles available. Separate chapters are devoted to each of the principle unit operations, grouped into four sections: fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer and equilibrium stages, and operations involving particulate solids. Now in its seventh edition, the text still contains its balanced treatment of theory and engineering practice, with many practical, illustrative examples included. Almost 30% of the problems have been revised or are new, some of which cover modern topics such as food processing and biotechnology. Other unique topics of this text include diafiltration, adsorption and membrane operations. Review: Necessary for chemical engineers even after graduation. - This book has gotten my through fluid dynamics and separations. And I will still be using it in my unit ops class. The examples are helpful for certain concepts and the graphs are easy to understand how to read. I have easily been able to relate my thermo work and my transport class. Speaking to others in industry they still have this book for reference in their offices. Review: A classic book for chemical engineers - This is a classic book for all chemical engineers and it is complete with most of the unit operations throughout its 1140 pages. Of course, it is most known by the its clarity and easy-reading characteristic. It can be used for any graduation students. I purchased the book from Brazil and I received it sooner that I could ever expect. In three days, the book was given me in my home.

This is an important textbook for chemical engineering students
The discussion in the textbook is excellent. However, I would say that this is for the senior year students of chemical engineering.

Not bad....
This book is good for a capstone course where you only need to review material, but it is not great (even borderline useless) for classes that focus on one or two of the sections, such as fluids or mass transfer, as it's likely your class will go into more detail than this book. With that said, you definitely want to purchase this book for use down the road instead of renting it. The international edition is much cheaper however.

Best Reference for Unit Operations, Separations, & Transport Courses
I have been able to use this book to help me through 3 classes so far. Probably will help me in senior design. Very detailed with good descriptions of equations and their applications. Perfect for anyone who needs that extra side material to really get a thorough understanding.

A great chemical engineering book
I'm from Brazil and here there aren't to many books of unit operations in portuguese. This is a great book because it is easy-reading, full of industrial equipment description and exemples. This was the best purchase I have ever done in my undergrad experience so far.

interesting and complete book
This book is essential when studying chemical engineering's topics. It provides many exercises, examples and lots of interesting topics, from the fundamentals to deeper subjects. In my opinion this book is an excellent buy and its way of explaining topics is up to date and very useful for chemical engineers and industrial chemists. Sometimes explanations turn out to be difficult but after a deeper reading complete and exhaustive. Excellent book for students and workers!

I was a little reluctant to purchase this book not knowing if it was the real deal but I am beyond satisfied. The only difference from my school's version of this book is the cover and the fact that it's paperback. This purchae saved me $150!
