We burned
Even with a visibly thick coat on our faces and reapplying our family got burned within a short time. I'm going to use this as a nice moisturizing lotion instead.

Very white
I'm sure this product protects but it goes on thick and very white! Therefore we did not use it!

Very good water resistance
Works well and stays in place longer than most while engaged in water sports. Not the easiest to apply and spread evenly, but worth the effort. Will be buying again.

the best yet
We traveled through Tahiti islands for 6 weeks, diving and snorkeling using this product in the reefs... it stuck all day long and we never got sunburn in the massive rays there !I'm sold on it now and have already ordered up 3 more cans for this summer! It's a white based product, so just deal with it... better than getting skin cancer!

Thoughfully made by real people!!
I asked some questions directly the Raw Love folks and got a thoughtful and satisfying answer. Here is our conversation:Do you make a version without eucalyptus? According to an Outside magazine article (https://www.outsideonline.com/2357026/best-reef-safe-sunscreens): "Some botanical extracts, like eucalyptus, are “toxic as hell” to invertebrate organisms because they have naturally occurring pesticides, according to HEL’s Craig Downs. I'm also wondering if the beeswax is free of agricultural pesticides? Is the coconut oil sustainably harvested?Aloha , thanks for reaching out. I myself am a marine biologist and have chosen ingredients that are safe for you and our ocean .We have actually asked Dr. Craig Downs before finishing out FdA regulations about eucalyptus oil. We use less than .05% of eucalyptus oil and because it mixed with beeswax ( which works as a water agent ) it stays within the formula and stays on your skin- not in the ocean . Our formula is much different and does not contain water . It’s thicker , yet spreads on nicely . We would never want to harm and ocean and we feel confident this is not a problem- we have gone through testing and continue to do so - at this time we see no harm.Beeswax - this was tricky for us . If you get “organic “ beeswax then that means often the bees are depleted and stuck in their cages and not allowed to fly free and do what bees do best and help the world grow . Organic is very regulated so that means they must be confined so no cross contamination can happen . We use Hawaii beeswax , from an organic farm on a beautiful mountain. Now because it is not certified “ organic “ the bees are free to cruise - there is a small chance they could get into another crop down the road that could have been sprayed BUT we decided that it’s more important to have happy bees that have enough beeswax for their family and are able to help flowers pollinate .Coconut oil - they are sustainably farmed from Philippines . We are working on getting the “ fair trade “ stamp now . The cosmetic company is very interesting world as I am learning - even though they are sustainably farmed with documentation it costs thousands of dollars to get the stamp. Working on it :)We are an extremely small company and we strive to be the most eco conscious product . I love that you asked such specific questions . Funny enough , I just hired a sustainability manager ( my second employee ) to dive into this world to see how we can lower our emissions , raise money to get higher certifications , grow to become a b Corp . So far , We are the first and only completely plastic free sunscreen company in the world and contain the cleanest ingredients on the market . There is always room to improve and we plan to do so. We ship using biodegradable packaging and re use all shipping materials when shipping bulk.I hope you choose us as our visions are aligned to help make this world a better place . :)Love and AlohaJenna DavisWww.rawlovesunscreen.comProtect your skin , protect our reef

Goes on smooth....seriously though it does!
I did a bit of research on "Reef Safe" sunblock, as sunblock is a big contributor to killing the reef (also if you don't let it s letting it set in for 15 mins before entering). I even tried a few including the famous 'ThinkSport' SPF 50. Which was great but, it does not go on smooth, unless you have hairless skin....stubbles don't count. While in Maui I decided to pick some of this up and it was the BEST decision, goes on smooth and had a lower SPF which was great for many reason. *(if you don't know why read below)....Oh and they have these little stars in it, makes it fun for kids.*SPF of 30 allows one-thirtieth or 3.3% of UV to reach your skin. This means it filters 96.7% of UV. With an SPF of 50, 98% is filtered and one-fiftieth or 2% gets through.SPF 30 sunscreen would slow the rate of burning to the point where it would take 30 times longer, or 300 minutes in total. SPF 15 would take 150 minutes, while SPF 50, 500 minutes.SPF 35 basically gives you another 50 mins and a tan...so ya oh and drops the absorption to 2.8% or something like that :)

Worst sunburns
Terrible. Not good for surfers. Bought it at the farmers market in Maui. In serious pain now
