I use a Goldtone Reusable filter, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY0BDX8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 cusg . It lasts a long time so you don't have to keep buying paper filters

Can you not use coffee filters with this?

Thank you for your question, Lol67. This coffee maker will work with a basket-style (flat-bottom) 8-12 cup coffee filter. The filter can be either paper or a permanent mesh.

Is the display clearly visible in dim light? Is the programmable function designed such that it is difficult to change the settings when fiddling with

The light on the coffee maker is visible anytime it's turned on; as for changing the settings, most are easy, the one I have trouble with is the operation time period, which is factory preset at 2 hours. Unless you drink a LOT of coffee, you need the 4 hour setting. But if you lose power or unplug the machine, it's back to 2 hours and you do need to read the directions to reset that function, as it's not totally logical without them.

Great coffee maker, great price, great cuppa coffee!! Does the job simply and easily!

GREAT coffee maker! Previously had a Cuisinart; hot plate got tired after 5 years. This is wonderful, clear viewing on right for filling water; shiny plastic pot cover cleans off coffee easily to original shine; wonderfully tasting coffee too, every morning! Love the ease of use, and auto turn off after two hours. Smaller than other models, comes in my favorite white, price is half of some of the Cuisinart, and I am loving this wonderful coffee maker. 5 stars, just like the other reviews I read said. Great coffee maker, great price, and great cuppa coffee!!!
