Oak glorious oak!
In the past 12 years we've used nearly all of the common smoking chips but hadn't tried oak. So glad we finally did! Got a bag of this for under $6. Smoked an eye of round to make deli-style roast beef. The oak was the most perfect smoke for it! Mild and flavorful, it complements the meat without becoming a flavor until itself. You know it's there, but it doesn't overwhelm. Turns out many of our favorite smokehouses (Southern Soul on St. Simon's Island, Georgia for example) use oak. Get a bag or two of this and you will NOT regret it!!!

Must have if you BBQ Texas style
Living on the east coast I find it's a little harder to find oak chips for BBQ smoking so this has become my go to for supply. Of the three times I've ordered only once have the chips appeared to have been of reduced quality (slightly more dried out then normal, not as "fresh" looking). They have all shipped on time and still impart a great flavor on my BBQ. Highly recommend these chips.

My Goto for Brisket
It's the perfect wood to compliment brisket. I use primarily post oak and just a hint of mesquite (10%) with, typically, a 16 -18 hour smoke at 250°. Looking for an internal temperature of 203°. Be forewarned, women will swoon and men get all misty eyed and emotional. Ask for sauce and we'll politely ask you to leave. It's that good.

Oak, a smooth smoky flavor.
Our area does not have oak chips in the grocery store.Somewhere near Knoxville TN and North Carolina border there was a sign, THE WORLDS BEST RIBS.So I stopped there and they were super! ! !I asked the cook, whose name was the same as the restaurant."What do you smoke with"... the answer was" half hickory and half oak"( I live in Memphis, maybe the best BBQ in the country )Oak and Hickory together give a nice gently two note smoky flavor.

Excellent oak chips
I'm very happy with these chips (we use a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker.) I've been mixing about 50/50 with hickory with great results, very nice flavor, not too intense, and the hickory is much cheaper (less than $2 at Walmart.) I just reordered these oak chips, this time a 4 pack!

Super with brisket!
Chips are fairly uniform in size and work well in our Master Built electronic smoker's chip tray. I believe these are post oak as they have a somewhat different color, texture, and aroma when burning than the white oak wine and whiskey barrel chips and red oak chips that we also use. They give a sweet smoky flavor that is terrific on brisket done in the Central Texas style.

Great taste
Got a great simple recipe for Texas pulled pork on the internet. It was from How to BBQ Right on YouTube, and it required post oak. Didn't find any locally, so ordered this product. The best pulled pork ive had, and so simple. Try it for sure, it won't disappoint!
