Pretty good!
I have only used this floaty once, so I'm not very qualified to give a review. I purchased this product specificly because it can hold young babies, and mine is 3 months old and I couldn't wait to get her out in the water. There were several parts to inflate and the bottom one didn't seem to inflate at all. I have a big baby...close to 14 lbs and the size of my friends 5 & 6 month olds, but I would NOT recommend putting a smaller baby inside. Her arms did not want to stretch over the front of the floaty, but rather gravitated to the inside where she also fell asleep for most of the swimming. I wouldn't do this, but it supported her well enough to keep her above the water all by herself. 5 stars for a great product, but be weary about keeping afloat a small baby.

Great swim trainer, a better choice then just a float.
We love this swim trainer! Much better than other floats that keep your kid upright, and not in proper swim position. We have used this all summer on the lake and pool (from when he was 3 months). and it has been great. It deflates and packs up small so we even brought it on vacation!' Our guy is skinny, so in the beginning, I was a little worried because it didn't seem that the waist part got tight enough around him. But if their arms are over and in the right place (we gauge that his chin needs to be just beyond the green frog) it works great. You would need to be in the water in arms readh of your baby with this product. (As with all floats). We highly recommend it to all our friends!

Disappointed!
Not well made. Straps were cheap and easily came loose while trying to adjust. Since there is no underneath straps between the baby's legs, if the shoulder straps did come loose in the water, the baby would fall right through! Difficult for one person to put on, you'll need a helper. My baby is 9 months and the design is flawed, he just went face forward into the plastic ring. I would assume this would only work well on an older baby/toddler. I can't even imagine a 3-4m old like they advertise.

Good, but I was hoping I'd like this more
I bought the red swim trainer for my son who is pretty slim for his age. At 23 months he weighs 25 lbs and is 35" long. I was having a hard time finding a swim vest or float that seemed okay for his measurements. I came across this item on Amazon and then did some digging on the net to find out more about the SwimTrainer as I had never heard of it. After discovering Fred's Academy, all the positive reviews, the cute little youtube clips of babies floating around the pool in it, I thought this would be perfect. I even decided to purchase the orange for my older boy who is almost 5 years old. Now, after using the trainers for the past 3 months at our local gym pool, I have to say that I like them, but do not love them. On the positive side, I'll say these trainers are made of a nice durable inflatable material. They do not feel like cheap plastic rafts. My older boy does jump in wearing this and so far no leaks. The best part about these floats is simply that they allow me more freedom in the pool when I am on my own with the kids. Taking two kids who can't swim to a pool without your better half is a nightmare. With the swim trainers, I have taken them to the pool once a week on my own all summer long. They keep my kids floating so that I can take turns playing with each child and help them develop some comfort/skills in the water. What does irritate me about the red one for my skinny younger boy is that, even fully inflated in all chambers, after about 25 minutes of swimming, it seems to ride up on him. That is the girdle feature that goes around his torso starts to creep upwards, and generally he appears to be sinking into the floatie. I instinctively, try to tug the thing down, but there is so much pressure holding it on so he can't fall out that you just can't tug it down. So, then I stop swimming, take the whole thing off, reposition it so it's not climbing up into his armpits, and resume swimming for another half hour or so, and then it's time to go home anyways. My older son doesn't appear to have the riding up problem, for him, the trainer just seems to twist around slightly to the left or right, and doesn't stay perfectly centered around him. He doesn't seem to care though. Also, I will say the trainer has helped my kids with kicking in the water, but it is still cumbersome for them to move their arms and paddle around the trainer. It's kind of like lying on a surfboard and paddling around the sides. They just aren't coordinated enough to do it yet. Also, my older boy's biggest problem is putting his face in the water, going under, etc. So, periodically we have to unbuckle the trainer to let him practice this skill as well. Generally, though, I like these trainers, I have found them a necessity when going to the pool, and my kids are pretty happy with them.

Best baby swim product on the market
This is the best baby swim product on the market, we will be getting these for all baby gifts! We bought this for our third child, I couldn't find anything like this with our first two children. They all hated the swim canopy rings because they couldn't move and they got bored. We held our kids in the pool & lake until they were old enough for the puddle jumper(best for a toddler)...this is a gem of a product! Our son has free range motion of his arms & legs, he splashes himself across the pool in no time! He loves it and it makes swim time much more enjoyable for the whole family. No fear of flipping or slipping out of this product at all..we started him at 7 months old, about 20 pounds. Great product!!

Super safe, engaging, and easy to put together
I cannot say enough good things about this floaty! As a parent, finding the right floatation device for my little one was crucial, and this floaty exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we started using it, I could see the careful thought and design that went into making this product. My baby was snug the whole time and it made going in the water feel safe. Both me and my little one loved the bright colors and we had a great time at the pool. 100%% recommend

The best ever
I will recommend this to anyone who has a kid and a water to swim in! We start using it at 6 months old, now is the second summer that we use it and I just cant be happier! It is a bit expensive but it worth it for sure! First it is probably the safest way for your child to swim. There is absolutely no way for a kid to jump out from the ring, or go under the water. It hold really tight and supports the upper body. Basically only legs are in the water, so make sure you put a longsleve on a child. It could get a bit tricky to put it on. It took me some time to figure out that i have to hold it vertically up, to put it on a standing child. My daughter loves thins ring and swims really well in it. Im confident that we will use it next summer as well and then probably get a next stage.

My 6 month old loves this! She is independent in the pool that is something I would give the world to see.Yes you read it right my 6 month old is INDEPENDENT IN THE POOL!!!! I suggest everyone starts early when it comes to their child, 6 months I believe is the right age; you can kiss water phobia goodbye!! This product is a little tough to infalte as their are too many places to blow air; but it is worth the effort; I would give it a 8/10 for design; One thing I did notice was that the top strap is very lose as the baby slips down a little...other than that this product is amazing; Happy Amazon India is bringing a lot of products available in Amazon USA (was about to ask my mom to carry it from the USA!! when she realized it is available in Amazon.in) Cheers Sandy
