Ive ran the old ballast of every sort until now, I paid 3 bones($300) for this tow years ago, and have been using it since june, so 8 months, almost, for the summer, I was using the 750 watt setting be ause so hot with 1000 watt setting, but using the valuline 435 cfm fan and inline reflector $29 ebay, this is my favorite set up ever. I did lots of reviews, and this orange one sold me, Ive been using it alot on 1000 watt, no problems watsoever, m oblivious to any negatives? I love the color, and gives two cords, one for 220, or 110(reg outlet). Thats a sign of a pro company. Love this!

The ballast itself seems nice 1000 600 or 400 watt compatible,it just knows what bulb is there.But the shipping was a little rough mounting tabs bent up dial adjustment knob pulled off but there's a permanent knob behind that.

Back in 2010 I bought three 1000 watt NEXTGEN ballasts for $399 each. It's amazing how much these things cost now. Anyway. I recently began growing again and with weeks one of the nextgens quit working. So I did some quick research and decided on the Quantum 1000 watters. I wasn't expecting much because how cheap these are now but when they arrived I was pleasantly surprised. I bought two of them because I like having a back up when it comes to my lighting and garden. First thing I did was fire both of them up and test them before mounting. All was good. First impression is that these ballast are a good value. And they come with a three year warranty. They appear to be built like tanks, look good, are almost completely silent and run cooler than what they replaced. They are dimmable (which I don't care about) so if your into that sort of thing it works great. Another good thing is they come with both 120 and 240 volt cords. I will come back and give another review after I put some hours on these. But for $150 with a three year warranty I don't see how I can go wrong.

This ballast is horrible. It worked fine for a while but then it almost always trips the circuit. I have it hooked up to a Shelly, and can monitor the wattage. I have it set to 50% on the unit but the unit will keep climbing in power as high as 700+ watts before throwing the circuit. Please don’t buy these.

I have used Quantum ballasts for three or four years. While I do not have technical data, I can say that they outlast cheap ballast. So far, I have not had any burn out. Also, they have no problem with black-outs and brown-outs. Where I live, we get surges and about 300 spikes or brown-outs a years. These ballasts keep ticking.

So far so good on this ballast. I have purchased several ballasts over the years. This brand has been one of the best so far. I have another one which was purchased over a year ago and it is still going strong. If I have the same results with thus ballast, I well be quite pleased. I would recommend this item to others in need of a light ballast.

I bought this as a replacement for a cheaper brand that I got in a combo deal that after a little over a month had ended up dying and smelling burnt electronics. This runs pretty cool for a single fan cooled ballast, runs pretty quiet, has multiple dimming settings and has a pretty good warranty. I would definitely purchase again so far, but time will tell how durable this brand is as far as failures go. I will update if anything changes

Just received this and very disappointed, this will not turn on not even getting the fan or anything coming on I have another 1000 watt ballast I hooked up to the same system and works fine ... this item is defective all I have is a paper weight .

Only fires certain bulbs... now after less than two years old, smelt burning plastic was like hmm but waited well today it shut off. Cord melted into ballast. Buyer beware.
