I’m always skeptical to by filters that aren’t from the original company. However, my V5 filter was WAY over due for a replacement and IQ air has been completely out of stock. I have a chronic illness (MCAS) whcih makes me highly sensitive to particles in the air so these machines are ESSENTIAL for me. When I opened the package I was a little hesitant it definitely feels slightly cheaper than IQ airs filter. However, there were no leaking carbon pellets. Nothing was out of place it just felt a little more fragile. I was also hesitant due to some other reviews saying it obstructed airflow. Well, after installing...I must’ve REALLY needed a new filter because in a few minutes I could tell my air quality was changing for the better. I own two dogs who shed a lot and thus create a lot of dust and dander in the air. I was so happy I decided to take the chance and bought this! Works great! Cheap price and with IQ air being out of stock for so long I’m so happy I found something that works and added bonus: saved some money!

It has an awful burnt smell that I did not experience with the name brand filter. It is also poorly made. I thought it might go away with some time but it did not. I had to go back to the real thing. It is not solid cardboard, there are glued on pieces of paper on the bottom that were falling off when I opened it.

Liked the price compared to IQs filter, dislike that I had to shake out the loose charcoal so it doesn’t damage air cleaner. Seems to be a little lighter in weight compared to IQ filter.

In the past I’ve always used the IQAir OEM filters in my Healthpro Plus but decided to try another mostly due to price and now additional shipping charges. The filter fit perfectly but was fairly distorted and not as rigid as the OEM activated charcoal filter. Coincidentally I had also purchased a air monitoring device several months previous and had about 90 days of results of PM 2.5 as well as tVOC amounts. With several months of running my IQAir Healthpro Plus the tVOC measurements were in the range of 1.3 to 1.6 mg/m3 or in the range of slightly high. The IQAir filter was well within the range of good use, about halfway through its useful life. I have my house professionally cleaned by a cleaning service every two weeks for the past four years so the environment remains fairly stable or as stable as it can be in a non laboratory environment. Plus the Healthpro plus runs 24/7. After several days of using the Filter Monster the tVOC measurement fell to .28 to .35 mg/m3 and has stayed consistently between those two measures! So the tVOC fell from slightly high to between excellent and good! To me that was an amazing result! Outcome is I’m going to use Filter Monster from now on for the activated charcoal filter and I would recommend this to other Healthpro users!

This filter seems to be a good value as opposed to the OEM filter. It took me a while to install it, but that was on me. For some reason I was trying to put it in upside down. Once I figured that out, it slid right into place. It does not seem to be quite as well made as the original, but I don't think that will have any effect on the way it works, and since it just sits inside of the air filter, it doesn't get wear and tear, so it should be fine. I would buy again, definitely. I've had it for several months now.

This filter works very well and the quality is equal to that of the major brand. IQAIR IS NOT SUPPORTING THEIR CUSTOMERS as the V5 Filter is out of stock. This should never ever happen. Now I have found this works just as good if not better at a lower cost. Good by IQAir filters!
