Great purchase!
This edger works great. Our driveway hadn’t been edged in years. There was grass growing over onto the driveway by about 18” in some areas. This little edger handled it nicely. It is super easy to operate. The only assembly was the handle and that just took a few minutes. Other than that it was ready to use right out of the box. I would highly recommend it especially if you want an easy to use and powerful edger.

Great edger for home use
This WORX 12 Amp Electric Lawn Edger did exactly what I needed it to do. It was easy to use, had plenty of power for cleaning up the edges around my driveway and sidewalk, and gave the yard a much cleaner, finished look. I like that it is corded because I do not have to worry about batteries dying, and it has enough power for regular homeowner use. The first pass took a little extra time since the edges needed cleaned up, but once I got going, it worked great. Overall, this is a solid edger/trencher for the price, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting cleaner lawn edges without dealing with gas.

What a difference it makes! Better, sharper looking edge than with a trimmer.
I like this. It does a better job of edging than a strimmer can do. It is very apparent. It is simple to put together. I do struggle a bit with the lever that lowers to allow the machine to trench--I want that lever raised for NO trenching, and it likes to stay in the lower position. But now that I am aware of the lever's tendency to drop, I can keep an eye on it. Be aware that it lowers enough to grab at some underground wiring. It is powerful enough to cut through lawn edges that haven't been done in a few years. It will also cut through damp grass, but that is messy because the muddier ground clings to the blade. But it does the work, you'll just need to have a flat-edged shovel to pick up the pieces of ground and roots that sluff off. It is heavy duty, and weighty--as it should be. The blade does not dull easily. I'll only need to use it a few times a year, but it looks like it is going to last a long while. Great value, I think!

Works well! I love it so far!! Twelve Amps for the win!!!
Mrs. Wingnut and I recently moved to a new home. It hadn't been really taken care of for some years as far as the yard goes. I tried my weedeater to edge this badly overgrown walkway in front of the house, and the grass laughed at me and my puny string trimmer. As Tim Allen would say, "We need MORE POWER !!!". One of the photos is of the still overgrown walkway in the back of the house, which I haven't attacked yet, so you know what condition I started with. The other two are after using the WORX WG896 edger on the front walkways, which were just as badly overgrown. i had shopped and found some "universal" gadgets that would replace my string trimmer head, but they all looked kind of dangerous. Spinning Blades Of Death And Dismemberment is what they looked like to me. That drove me to think, hey, someone has to have invented a relatively powerful, electric, corded edger by now. The WORX WG896 is indeed that! Have you ever used a decent sized circular saw? This Edger is pretty much a 12 amp circular saw on a long stick, with wheels! It uses a rectangular blade rather than a circular blade, though. You need to keep the kids and pets inside the house when you fire this sucker up, though. It does fling debris. Oh yes, I read someone complaining that this edger is NOISY. Well, I do NOT recommend using it indoors at all. LOL It sounds exactly like a big circular saw, wear hearing protection if you need to. NOTE: There is no blade brake. The blade will continue spinning for a few seconds after you take your finger off of the trigger. Young children and pets need to stay inside the house.Like most power tools, this can be dangerous if you're not paying attention. I stopped edging and put things away when I realized I was getting fatigued. If you are edging concrete areas, you're going to chew through your blades quickly until you get the hang of things. I'm still learning how to use this beastie. This is not super heavy duty porofessional lawn crew grade equipment, but it is indeed what I needed to reclaim my walkways. It turns out my concrete walks are about 3-4 inches wider on each side than I thought they were. OOPS. LOL. I'm using this WORX WG896 to reclaim my walkways from the jungle! I'm doing a major cleanup initially, then use the edger a few times a year to keep the creeping terror at bay. In between, I'll use the string weedeater to maintain as needed. If you're not used to this type of edger (like me!) edging against concrete surfaces is going to eat up some blades until you get the hang of things - and find out where the edge of the concrete is! I did a good bit of concrete scraping, so my first blade is perhaps 40 percent used up already. I have spares on the way already. This first cleanup is brutal for both myself and the edger blade! Side Note: I'm six feet tall. The handle is a bit too short for me, even with my orangutang arms. It's probably a good fit for most people. I run into this with most yard tools.

Practical, functional, works okay
It works! Its kind of clumsy and you have to put in some elbow grease to keep it on track, but its functional, a little bit on the heavier side. Worth the price if its under $120

Great tool glad i bought
i was a little hesitant in buying this But im glad i did . This worked great, beats a weed wacker hands down what normally took two hours to trim took 45 min and it looks a lot nicer . no messing with string. A cordless would be nice but i was concerned a battery one would be a little under powered . This one has plenty of power

Great but could be Epic
If you’re looking for a solid edger for sidewalks and driveways, this is a great tool. It’s powerful, well-built, easy to assemble, and simple to use. For edging, I would definitely recommend it. However, I wouldn’t recommend it as a true trencher. I bought it for both purposes but mainly needed it for trenching. The maximum cutting depth is only about 1.5 inches, which isn’t deep enough for most garden borders or running cable. In my opinion, a real trencher should be able to reach at least 3 inches deep. The limitation comes down to the blade size and guard design. WORX could improve this model with a larger blade guard and additional wheel depth settings. If they released a version capable of 3–3.25 inch trenching depth, it would really stand out in the market. Overall, it’s an excellent edger, just not a true trencher.

Edges Well
Considering how inexpensive this edger was it is undoubtable that there are higher-end models available. I was unwilling to spend a lot of money for an edger considering I have a section of sidewalk and street that doesn't amount to much edging work. Out of the box this edger was quick and easy to assemble. Within minutes I was out in my yard getting ready to edge. It is notable that I've owned a mower but have not had an edger since last year. Therefore it was very overgrown on the sidewalks and out towards the street. This edger did a great job cutting through the mess that my yard had become.
