If you have a bully chicken, you NEED these!
We have three hens. They were raised together and have gotten along seemingly well for the last 1.5 years. This year, our Rhode Island Red decided to have a weird molt (early in the Fall) and then another small molt (mid Winter). The other girls had hard molts somewhere in between and so the RIR was the only one molting in winter, which caused our Buff Orpington to start bullying her. The RIR was severely bald in numerous places from where the Buff would run up, peck a feather and run away with it. This made the RIR cry out a lot, look terrible and she was obviously getting cold. I let this go on for literally a day before I realized I needed an intervention because I didnāt want the Buff to peck so much as to draw blood! Who do I separate? Some websites said the bully, others said the molting bird. But separating the molting bird can cause stress and knocks her down on the pecking order, etc etc. I was exhausted from researching what to do until I found these! I ordered them and while we waited for them to arrive, we put the RIR in an old dog crate and brought her in to the garage from the weather and fed her extra special treats as she started to regrow her feathers back. As soon as these came in, we put them on the Buff. It was a two person job: we caught her, wrapped her up in a soft towel and the other person applied the peepers. She did not like them for the first two days (some people said theirs were over it in a few hours, our girl wasnāt) but the pecking stopped IMMEDIATELY! We were able to return them all together that night and everything was peaceful again. We let the RIR grow back in all her feathers before we removed the peepers (a few weeks, maybe 3?) and by that time, the mean olā Buff was now lowest in pecking order. So thankful for these and will keep on hand for any future incidences. I ordered the box with both large and small so that I have sizes for all and for flocks to come. :)

Gets the job done just not for me
They work! But there are a few reasons this is not for me. Getting the plastic guards on and off the chickens can be hard because the plastic is hard and rigid, this made it difficult not to hurt the chicken in the process and it stressed them out. Once left on, the piece of the guard that is meant to be inserted in their nostrils are made long to prevent the chicken from easily removing it themselves but it pierced a hole where they meet in their nose, their āseptumā if you will. I attempted to cut those pieces short to prevent that but it allowed the chicken to remove the guard themselves.

Worked immediately for our bully hen
We have 9 hens. Iāve never had any issues with bullying until recently, Marty (pictured above) has decided to target our sweetest hen, Sandy. She has been getting on top of Sandy and ripping the feathers out of her head, getting close to drawing blood. Isolating Marty didnāt work and we didnāt want to rehome her, so we decided to try these. They worked IMMEDIATELY! Naturally Marty wasnāt a huge fan right away, but she quickly adapted and is still able to dig, eat, drink, roost etc like everyone else. The google eyes are not only hilarious, but necessary. Marty got pecked at a few times by the other girls before we added the googly eyes but it stopped once we added them on.It did take both my husband and I to put these on, but the tool included was perfect and once we got it on it has stuck for upwards of 2 weeks now. I wrapped her in a towel to hold her still so she couldnāt hurt herself and my husband put the blinders on. Just line the points up with their little nostrils, it may take a few tries. Thank you for helping save our little flock!!!!

No good!
Didn't stop my hen from pecking the heck out of my rooster. Difficult to put on & remove.

Bully Bird Fix!!
These are amazing!!! We had an aggressive hen, not anymore! Put them on our girl, left them on for about 10 days and she was a totally different bird! Worth the money vs culling a good hen. The other birds will peck at the blinder but it only lasts a min or so. And the other hens probably need to get the shots in 𤣠Definitely recommend if you have some bully birds! Good luck!

Our meanest hens STILL attack the weakest 2 we have.
This is why we got them. We already have some, but it's been years since we used them last, and we couldn't find them. But, as my headline says, this batch of hens doesn't care what we do, they are trying to kill 2 of their sisters.

Instantly humbled!
I have 6 Australorp hens that were not happy with a small silkie mix rooster being added to their flock. They were and always have been great with people but they were very aggressive toward the new rooster. After 2 weeks of constant aggression on their part, and worry on mine, I finally decided to give these a try. Instantly humbled and a total game changer!I don't understand the people having so much difficulty applying these. Australorps are black, including their beaks, so their nostrils aren't the easiest to see. Even so, I was able to put these on the hens without anyone to assist me. I used the tool that was enclosed with the prongs pointed down, I grabbed the hen's head with one hand, aimed slightly higher up on the beak, and when I released the tool, the peepers slid down the beak and into the nostrils where they needed to be. Not only did I do this without help, I didn't wrap their wings in a towel, or bring them inside to put the peepers on. I stood right in the middle of their chicken run surrounded by the other chickens. It was super easy.

For one of our Hens
We had a hen who was bullying and we purchased these for her. They were not hard to put on. We did have to cut off once done, as that seemed the easiest way to get them off. Comes with quite a few of them as well.
